Dancing With The Stars!

I agree too. Jerry has done much better than George as far as dancing. I liked George for the entertainment value but this is a dance competition.

I still like Drew more than Stacy. She has had just too much professional training for my taste to be in an 'amatuer' dance competition.

Exactly right about Stacey....MANY years of ballet dance tap and then a professional cheerleader/DANCER...alot of training for "amateur"

I wish the show would have given a bit more about the true backgrounds of the contestants, because if the audience knew, it may influence their votes.

CheerBop i agree about the audience needing to know about the backround info.
I can't wait for Thursday..how is it only monday??!

Anyone else here feel the need to sign up for dancing lessons every thursday night?? Every single time i watch them, i want to DANCE TOO!

I thought I was alone. I would love to talk Ballroom dancing again. I love the Latin dances and the graceful movements of the Fox Trot. I love dancing with a partner and haveing our movements compliment each other. Lets start a campaign to reinstate tween dance lessons and Saturday afternoon tea dances (did I just date myself - lol).

Just checking out a couple of the videos on the WWE was enough to influence me. Can I say Ick? I definitely didn't get that clean beautiful girl-next-door feeling.

And yes, I always feel like I should be dancing when watching the show! Sometimes my ds breaks into dance. It's fun!

Figment52--> I LOOOVE the Latin Dances too....ahh now i am sitting here thinking about dancing again!!! I wish i had time to take lessons..it would be so much fun, and can you imagine...it would be the perfect way to lose this baby weight!!! Ala Tia Carrere!

I told DH that I would love to take ballroom dance lessons. His reaction 'we don't ever go anywhere to use it' Wouldn't that be the point, to actually go places? Men :sad2:

SCminnie--> my husband feels the same way! i just rolled my eyes! little does he know that i also want to improve on what he calls his 'dance moves'
His dancing literally looks like a chicken running around with it's head cut off. it's just scary and traumatizing!!!

:lmao: That's too funny!
Just remember - it could be worse! He could dance.... er.... uhm... clomp around like Master P. ;)

DH can't dance at all. He does attempt sometimes when he's had a few drinks but his feet never seem to leave the floor. The man has absolutely no rythem what so ever.

2 more days to go!!

Geetey: oooo this is true, he could do worse...Master P was really quite frightening to watch! haha, thanks for letting me appreciate that!! :)

ScMinnie--> YIKES when my husband gets a few drinks in him, it gets worse, he does the WORM!!! he has done this in a tuxedo at a black tie WEDDING!!!

Husbands what are we gonna do with them?!?!

Go Drew Go- definately agree Stacy has too much training - started dancing when she was 4 and has been in many competitions and won some- article I saw last week? somewhere! ? I thought the premis of the show was that the contestants had very little to no prior dance experience?

I found a bit of an artilce on Stacey and it says this....

Stacy Keibler: I started dancing when I was young, and I was a dancer my whole life until I got to high school and got into cheerleading. When I was dancing I would dance three times a week and compete on the weekends, and all I did was dance. I would tell my parents that I didn’t want to dance and wanted to play other sports like soccer. My mom always said “no, you’re going to break your legs, you have to keep dancing.” I always complained about it, and now my mom is like, “Oh, so now see where dancing has gotten you.” I also won a dance competition to become a Nitro Girl for WCW.

I am sure there are more articles and info to be found, but that is just one that I recently read....

Pooh4Evr--> i thought that about the show too! i'm not sure though now, i mean if internet personas can figure out if someone has had dance training surely they fact checkers at ABC could do the same?? So i'm not sure other than agreeing with the above posters that said that the end of the show is predetermined and they wanted her on the show to win..?? who knows anymore!

"HERE'S TO DREW!! GO! GO! GO!"

Yes, Stacy has had dance training.

But don't you think that Drew has had dance training as well? He was part of 98 Degrees. I'm sure most all of their dance moves were choreographed and he had to have training. He danced on Broadway in the musical Rent. I'm sure he worked with a choreographer and had dance lessons as well.

I think that they should cut to the chase now.....Drew and Stacy in the finals. They are far and away the two best dancers on the show.

I love Jerry Rice....he's just so sweet-looking.....Mr. Nice Guy..... but I doubt he'll make it to the finals, in that case I go with Drew....cutie patootie!

We discussed this topic before....he has had no real dance training with 98 degrees... look a few posts back and you will see it was already a topic. Maybe SOME with Brodaway, but I know of MANY performers on Broadway that can NOT dance.

Drew has rhythm, but no dance training like Stacey. Many multiples of years in many forms of dance. Take it from me....I am a dancer and coach.

But I do agree...those are the top 2 dancers. and we all have agreed before (look at prior posts) that Stacey seems to have been almost pre-determined as the winner.

I really don't want to hear the judges, esp the one, fawn all over Stacey' looks, etc. this week! :rolleyes2 Enough already! HOW do you think she has made a name and money for herself!?!?!

Do they design their own outfits or are they given to them based on the song? i was curious about this because sometimes i can't sTAND what they are wearing and it detracts from the dance.

It's my understanding that they design their costumes each week and that the professional dancer has quite a bit of say in the design. I know one week Lisa Rinna was asked how much say Louie had in her costume and she said ALOT!
