Me! I just went this past Saturday. I liked it a lot. We were in a huge arena, and honestly the dance floor was pretty far away! They did have some massive monitors though, so you could still see. All around the dance floor are some small round tables for all the people who spent a fortune on their tickets. We were with the other commoners in the stands.
Harry Hamlin has a pinched nerve so he is out for a few shows, but Drew Lachey, Joey Lawrence, Joey McIntyre and Lisa Rinna were there. Quite honestly, people cheered more for Cheryl Burke and Edyta than the "stars".
Because we were in Chicago, and Jerry Springer lives here, he performed with Kym Johnson which was really cute. I guess we were the only show where he is going to perform though.
Drew and Cheryl did their "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" routine from season 2, and the crowd went nuts. You will see a lot of familiar routines, complete with the costumes they wore on the show. It really was very entertaining, and their "company dancers" were truly outstanding.
The "host" (forgot his name) left a lot to be desired. And the thing that really ticked me off, is that they never let you forget that Slimfast is the sponsor. They spent a lot of time on the woman who learned to dance and lose weight for the Slimfast challenge. In fact, the pre-show was sponsored by Slimfast and it was a bunch of local couples competing from some dance studio. That part was really stupid.
All in all, it was very entertaining, and you got to see a lot of behind the scenes footage from the shows. The entire show was directed, produced and I think written by Carrie Ann Inaba. The entire thing was choreographed by Louis Van Amstel.
