Shangela is amazing. If you aren't familiar with drag, she's affiliated with the House of Edwards (*tonguepop*) out of Texas, and they tend to all be accomplished dancers. Also, she's hilarious.
She's from RuPaul's Drag Race which, if you like reality TV and haven't seen, you are MISSING OUT. So many drag performers are so unbelievably talented. She's also in a documentary series on HBO called "We're Here" that's sort of a Queer Eye-esque show where they make everyday people in usually small towns into drag queens. There's been some really interesting and moving stories told on that series.
That's who I'm rooting for, anyway, but it'll be a tough season... there's a ton of talent on the show! I have never watched it until now, but because I follow Shangela, I figured why not check it out. I knew she would bring the entertainment. But I've also been very moved watching Selma Blair. What an amazing accomplishment for her. She's an inspiration. It also made me sad to note that it's hard to get properly diagnosed in this country, even when you're famous.
