I have asked this question before but no one knew anything about it so I will try again. My daughter attends dancing school. They will be going to Disney to perform in the park. It is not a competition. Has anyone ever seen this there? I have been to Disney several times and have never heard of this or seen it.

Disney has a program called Magic Music Days where school bands, choirs, and dance groups can perform at the park, take workshops, and participate in other activities. The groups, in return, get special hotel and ticket rates, and get plenty of time to enjoy the parks. Not all groups partake in all activities -- some just perform, others do any and all workshops available.

If you look at your entertianment schedule when you get to the park, you'll see a list of all the groups performing that day. On Steve Soares' site, he also lists all of the MMD groups that are performing.

The program has been around forever -- started as a vehicle for marching bands to perform in the afternoon parade at Disneyland.

My DD's show choir performed in the MK just this last April. They really enjoyed being able to perform without the pressure of competition. There are several different stages where "ameteur" groups perform. We were at the Tomorrowland Stage. I was amazed at how many people stopped to watch. I'm sure your dance group will have the time of their lives. Enjoy and take lots of pics!!
