On the subject of Christmas, we watched the Jim Carrey Disney Christmas Carol last night. I think it's evident that old Ebeneezer Scrooge should have left the rum out of his eggnog before he went to bed on Christmas eve.

This was written a long time ago. Maybe it was opium. Or a little coca in his cola.

Christmas was fun this year. We had a less is more kinda approach and kept things very low-key. No stress, no fuss and no fights.

I GOT A TREADMILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!





....which I realize may sound weird, exclaimed with such excitement, but for this runner who typically misses running from mid-November until sometime in March, this is HUGE. DH totally sprung this on me. Best. DH. Ever.


Also got new fleece pj's and a fleece blanket that is so soft it feels like fur. The cats got catnip-infused bubbles from their "uncle"....! Party in a bottle.

We are on our way for a small vacation. We have one night booked at BLT then we plan to just pick a destination.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. We had an ice storm and we were without power/heat/water for Christmas. We finally got it back Thursday night and I'm just getting back online. We have a woodstove in the cellar below the dining room/kitchen so we were able to get those rooms up to about an average of 51 degrees. The 1st night wasn't as bad, but then the temps dropped and the rest of my house it was mid to high 40's in here. 45 was the lowest. It was miserable. I wore ski pants in the house. The ferrets barely wanted to come out of their cage. They went into hibernation mode. This time of year it starts getting dark in the house by 3:30 and you would need flashlight by 4pm. Cold and dark. We had to melt buckets of snow by the fire to try to get enough water to flush the toilet. Soooo glad that is over. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate my furnace, running water, hot water and electricity.

I've been enjoying my time off from work. Just about finished a scrap book album that I've been working on for just forever. Gonna have to see what to start next! I don't have any more Disney-related pics, which are always my faves.

We got about another foot of snow last night. Over 6,000 more people without power. It's been so cold, the ice is still on all the trees/branches. The wind can cause limbs to fall taking down the power lines.

We most likely won't be doing anything for New Year's either. My son and husband like to get up bright and early for opening day fishing on the 1st.
