....thanks for all your prayers and well-wishes....he's in surprisingly good spriits and they said that his sugar has gone down, which, I'm thinking is a good thing...:confused3
Kimmar, I've been praying for your brother and your family. May your brother's recovery continue to be uneventful.

Don't you just hate it when you have a long post going and you lose it! :(

I was trying to tell ya'll about this place......

https://www.innatchristmasplace.com/

It is so beautiful!!! These pictures do not do the resort justice. And across the street is the largest Christmas Shop in the south. We have been here twice in the last month. We have been on the hunt for the perfect lodge for our son to be married in. They wanted a mountain wedding with just their closest friends and family in attendance. So we have had to find a place that fits several requirements. One being the 32 guest and the ceremony. Then the two families decided we wanted to stay together. ::yes:: So we need a place to comfortably sleep 22. The first place we toured 3 weeks ago was 11,000 sq. ft. but a lot of smaller rooms and very choppy. The one we just toured this week is only 8,000 but very open. And the views are INCREDIBLE!! If you are interested in seeing it google the Wilderness Lodge in Gatlinburg.( If you check it out....we are hoping for great weather so the ceremony can take place outside on that grand staircase. ) Yeah the Wilderness Lodge!!! Our favorite place in Disney. It doesn't get any better than that!! There is also a Wilderness resort with a water parki in it in or around Gatlinburg as well. We have fallen in love with the mountains and all there is to do and see. It feels like home there. Guess I'm a mountain girl at heart. :goodvibes
Well, just wanted to share a bit of what we have been up to lately.
Wow! Now this makes my wedding planner heart go pitter patter! :cloud9:

It's getting windier and darker here. Smileybug, you are closer to the coast than I am. I hope ya'll are okay.

If we have bad weather because we live so far out in the middle of nowhere, we could be without power for a while. Last bad hurricane like storm, it was 2 weeks.
CreativeAmanda, get a generator as soon as you can. My family used to live out in the boonies, and we all had generators. I remember my Dad calling around the morning after Hugo passed over us (yes, right over us). He snagged the last two generators Sears had east of the Mississippi. And we needed them. One headed to a cousin's house in Charleston and one headed to our house.

Looks like the worst has past us according to the news. Whew. Now praying for those of you up in the northeast.
And my prayers are ascending for those in the path of this storm. We just drove back up I-4 & I-95 today (leaving WDW, sniff, sniff) and saw tree trimming and utility trucks heading north.

:headache: I forgot! We have a generator. It's in storage. I wonder if dh has cranked it recently. . .

Thats all we had as well. It was a great day for being inside.

That's great you were able to find a place for all of you.

There are some awesome lodges and cabins in and around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge TN.

This place is a wedding planners dream. My mind has been running a million miles a minute with decorating it. We are going to have to rent a small Uhaul truck to get everything there. We are going with an old world shabby chic/rustic look. From the dishes to the antique flatware that I have been collecting for months. Each table is going to have its own look with lanterns, tall centerpieces, picture frames and the sweetest mercury glass tea light candle holders. I have ceramic birds and..... well, you get the idea. :rotfl: haha (this momma has gone crazy) Even the salt shakers are antiques. I have bought salt dips ( little itty bitty bowls to hold salt and pepper) with antique silver salt spoons.

:headache: I forgot! We have a generator. It's in storage. I wonder if dh has cranked it recently. . .

They should be cranked at least once a month. Dh also takes ours out every few months just to check it over. But where we live we lose power often. We had the house wired so we can plug it in and power the first floor. If we had it to do all over again we would have had a whole house generator installed.::yes::

Wow! It's going to be beautiful!

It rained a little this morning. Now it's just plain ugly. It should start in earnest later today into tonight. I hope that we don't loose power. Everything else doesn't bother me. We're supposed to have 30-40 mph sustained winds with 70-75 mph gusts. :crazy2::scared::eek:

Be safe all of those in the path of the storm! Make sure to take the storm warnings seriously.

School is closed tomorrow. One less thing to worry about. Now I don't have to worry about DD and I getting to school and then have to worry about my house.

Hope everyone who's affected by Sandy stays safe!! The move is over, went well, and now the settling in begins. Just wanted to stop in and say hi while we have power!!! The wind is picking up and DH said he saw the town DPW setting up a generator by the fire station. Yeah, that bodes well....

.

Hi everyone. I still have power.....for now. Maybe I will get lucky and keep it. It won't be too bad in Maine considering other areas. Tonight we will have heavy rain, possible flooding and wind gusts 50/60 mph.

It's 5:46 and we still have power. Been blowing and raining for awhile. The worst will hit over the next 6 hours or so. A friend of mine who lives on the coast in Conneticut says that portions of 95 are closed there and the street in front of her place is partially flooded. As long as the power stays on, it can blow all it wants too. Where is a hurricane smilie when you need one.

We're fine down in North Cackalakie. But it has gotten real cold real quick. Like 50 degrees. Brrr. (Or at least brrr to us)

Amazingly, there's a hurricane and Florida is getting nothing from it. It's been chilly here today. I had my windows open and a/c off. I've noticed my DD13 gets a bloody nose each time the weather dips and the humidity goes away. Guess it's good we usually have humidity.

Dry winters are rough on the sinuses even with a humidifier and nasal moisturizer.
