what a trade off.... inlaws.... vs new kitchen.... i'd deal with the inlaws too... cuz eventually they go home, and you can still have the new kitchen... new treadmill.. and hey didn't they do the pool too???? you are sooo lucky... i can't think of one darn thing my inlaws every gave us.. except for excuses about how they can't get out and shop... nothing.. not even for the kids... I mean.. whatever.. we don't really NEED anything... so I shouldn't complain... but jeeze... you know at christmas and birthday's she gives a 25 check, and they thank her... but then it's like they have to be eternally grateful... .. it's not like she can't afford anything either.. but... i don't know.. I guess I'm just ungrateful....and again.. I'm thankful.. because we don't need anything... but, my mom would always buy stuff... just because she saw something and it reminded her of one of us, or for no reason... I miss my mom... off my soap box....

I would still deal with the inlaws for those kinds of gifts.. I have been thinking of getting a treadmill too... any suggestions? I just have to figure where to put it... I was going to see if i could get a used one,.. maybe a fold up kind.. not too big... I was thinking it would be nice to try and get exercise, because I know joining a gym would be a waste for me. i would never find time to actually go.

....certified letter to Mean Queen's MiL??? :confused3

Wow. A whole new kitchen because the fridge didn't fit? That's pretty awesome!

Slow and steady wins the race, right?

So I am slowly and steadily working my way through my pt. And getting really small increases in strength every day. The stairs in my house are killer, but I'm trying to limit the amount of times I go up and down. This is first week "alone" with the kids without additional help, and I'm making it work but it's exhausting.

Just wanted to poke my head in and say hi. :goodvibes

I think it was also to compete a bit with DH's dad (her ex) getting us the pool. He was sick and wanted to give us one heck of a goodbye gift.

I do know we are very lucky to have such generous family. Though I often think I'd give it up to have my mom here to spend time with the kids. His family just can't spend a lot of time with the girls.

My DD13 just reminded me of another MIL story. A year ago we got a new door and painted it a nice cranberry red. MIL and step FIL said a red door stands out and attracts robbers to your house. So while we were away one weekend, they repainted my door! They messed up the brand new lock and handle in the process. We ended up having the whole house repainted (it was planned to go with the red door) and this time I had to go with a blue door to avoid them repainting it again. I guess robbers don't like blue.

....okay, now you're jes' makin' that up.....

I wish! I was so angry. But I kept my mouth shut to the in-laws. We just make comments to each other about all our neighbors who will be robbed because of their red doors.

At moments like this, I wish I could wave a wand and turn your in-laws red/blue colour blind. :grouphug:

She's not. I seem to recall first hearing that story over coffee, too! Hmm....I'm seeing a pattern here.

:lmao: Because clearly now you are immune to a break-in!! Oh my....you are a better/stronger person than I. That one act alone would have pushed me over the edge....!

Hey nanners! Quick howdy.... Not having a stellar week here. Won't bog you down with my woes. Gotta keep on keepin' on! Hope everyone else is well! We're having a crazy 50* day here today, albeit with rain. I'll still take it! Back to the deep freeze this weekend. Poo.

Mean Queen, no joke, I remember you telling me about this. And I think a red door is so snazzy! Now, I have a green house, so if I did it, it would scream Christmas, but I would love a red door.

It was beautiful here today as well! Deep freeze...I don't believe I heard you correctly...I'm just going to ignore that statement.

Not like it matters, I can't drive anyway. :drive: :worried:

...she plays her cards right, and she COULD wind up with a totally new house!

I had a really rough day today (and yesterday). MJS worked until 1100pm last night so it was all me, all day. On deck, as I like to call it. By the time the end of the day came I was shot. Then Squirt didn't want to go to sleep because he'd taken a decent nap. Then the cats were crying at our doors, and I refused to let them in because initially they were playing on the beds. Um, no. We're sleepy. Not playing, girls.

Did I mention we adopted kittens?

We adopted kittens!!! :goodvibes

Sisters. They're super cute, and truthfully really good cats. They just happened to be mega awake when I wanted to be asleep.

Then they were crying at our doors this morning at 500am, woke up Squirt, who in turn, woke up Nemo. I called Nana and begged for help today, which she was happy to provide. My father took me to pt where I proceeded to attempt to bite back tears as my knee got bent farther than its been bent since surgery.

Which was good but HURT. Greg told me I could swear if I wanted to. :lmao: I had trouble just not shaking and crying, never mind articulating a four letter word.

And now I have a whole new set of pt exercises to integrate into my routine, which will be helpful and all get me to where I need to go, but I'm just so tired.

It's been 2 weeks since my surgery, and the guesstimate is that I'll be able to drive in another 1-2. Maybe even start going to the gym again and cycling.

It can only go up from here, right?

.....sooooo, I guess the names 'Jack' and 'Will' are out of the question......pity.

I did not want boys.

There are three in my house, including my husband.

It was time for some more estrogen!!!! ;)
