I know this sounds dull and oh-so-not-fun, but trust me on this: get your hands on the user manual (you can probably find it to download online if nothing else) and go through it. I did that with mine -- gave myself a basic overview, then sat at the computer with phone in hand and just started going over features, one chapter at a time. It's SO much more phone than my old one, I would have pulled my hair out trying to just mess with it!! (and really, a smartphone is just a little computer that happens to function as a phone).

.

I need to do that!

I bet even the small cold snap we are having is a heat wave for you.

My Dd14 got into a new high school for next year that is a charter school with a local college. When she graduates 12th grade, she should also have her AA degree. For free! I asked where she wanted to go to celebrate and she said "Le Cellier." Yep, that's my kid. Disney and pricey.

Wow! What an awesome option.

Hey guys...... Need some opinions. I'm looking for a new (to me) vehicle; I was looking at another Explorer (had one for about a year, loved it) but was also considering an Expedition (similar in every respect, just bigger).

Here's my quandary: I love the extra size of the Expedition. No, we don't often need to carry all 5 of us anymore, but when we do I've got 3 teen boys (think arm and leg room!). In the warm weather, I do a lot of shuttling back and forth with at least my DS14, and often a friend or two, and they usually have their BMX bikes with them. The Expedition would absolutely swallow a couple of bikes in the cargo space. The Explorer will hold them, but sometimes I had to lower a rear seat (which then removes a spot for a person to sit).

Seems like a no-brainer to this point, I know, but what it comes down to is that the Explorer would have a V6 engine, and the Expedition an 8. I'm super concerned about gas prices right now, and that V8 is going to use more. Most of my trips are fairly local, in an 8 - 15 miles/day range (grocery shopping is 20 miles away, once a week, plus a similar distance now and then for places like Target, etc.).

I can either just stick with the Explorer and deal with my cargo issues, or go with the Expedition for maybe 4-5 years, then downgrade as the kids are moving on.

WWYD??!

.

I realize my opinion is different than others, but I would not buy a V8 unless I needed it for towing purposes. I very much dislike car shopping.

….we might get another snow storm next week….sound familiar?

It's beautiful here right now, gotta be near 50* and the sun is out.

In other news, my mom is in the declining stages of Alzheimer's and not doing well.... :sad1:

And, truck shopping is going horribly.

:(

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom.

Vehicle shopping is no fun.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom.

Thank you. I'm still devastated, even though I knew exactly what to expect from the disease. Just so hard.

Vehicle shopping is no fun.

Y'know, I haven't had this much of an issue ever before. I am trying to buy privately, as all dealers (even small independent ones) are going to have a mark-up in price, and we've got a small budget. We don't have a lot around here for classifieds, so I'm largely relying on craigslist. Have used that resource before and had great luck. This time.....ugh, I don't know!! My first beef is re: ads that were posted up to 2 months ago where the vehicle is long sold but the people can't be bothered to take down the ad. Or, even more fun, is contacting the person and getting no reply whatsoever (yet the ad remains....). I mean yeah, eventually I move on, but it's so frustrating to find one you like that might be a perfect match, and just sit in limbo. And wait. And hear nada.

Sorry about your mom. My Grandmom had the Disease and I know how horrible it can be.

Morning nanners. A new day has dawned and I'm trying to greet each one with as much optimism as I can muster. One day at a time.

Today I am looking forward to going to visit the friend who I am going to Disney with in May. We'll be picking some FPs on her My Disney Experience account and customizing our MagicBands! So, that's something happy. :goodvibes

Hope everyone has (had, in PiO's case....) a good Sunday!
