We do have a natural gas heater, but I was thinking of like a solar blanket or something to put on the top of the water to retain the heat to avoid the cost. We did consider having solar panels installed (since I do live in the city that holds the record for most days of sunshine) but the cost was too much. Using the gas heater isn't too expensive, but I try to avoid it in the pool because of the amount of water that needs to be heated.
