Dancing around the world~One pole at a time~~~Return of the prodigal trip reporter...

I loved you tackling Jordan - looks like siblings, sort of ;) It is so sweet to see all of you bonding and having so much fun together!
I don't think I've ever tackled one of my siblings to check their undies before....well, except for the wedgie incident.;)

great pictures, Cherie! too funny!
thanks!

Looks like a great time!!!! So great to relax and enjoy each others company. All the funny is just the kid coming out in the most magical place on earth.:cloud9:

I don't have a problem with having my inner kid come out anywhere....it's more difficult to pretend to be an adult.;)

remember that I mentioned us going on a cross country road trip in August? Well, do to budget cuts that plan has been ixnayed and we are in the process of planning something closer and most importantly cheaper.

Last week Evan was in a little fender bender...he was in a crowded parking lot, a lady opened her door into oncomming traffic, Evan, and he hit her door.

Most importantly no one was hurt! For that I have sent many thankfull prayers heavenward. After a week of dealing with insurance and the other party involved we're looking at $1,000 out of pocket to fix our van...the front passenger door won't open more than a foot, plus we have a small dent and scratch the length of the van.

Sadly, we have discovered that because Evan is a teen, the blame is being put on him....it's a long annoying story so I'll spare everyone the details. right now I just want to move on and even tho we know it wasn't Evan's fault we are just going to let it be.

Sooo, that has put a huge dent in our vacay budget. I'm now formulating a couple of different alternate plans...My favorite is a trip to CA and Disneyland!! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much because it may still fall through...but I should know in about a week.

I have been off my feet for almost 2 weeks, so half way done! but I'm so bored! I've never wanted to do dishes or laundry this much in my life.

Wendy was asking when you'd be down here. they have a vacation planned for the 8-14th right now. It's not set in stone......but.........

Poor Cherie, I'm so sorry. Dare I say, I work in the insurance industry. Please don't hate me too much. I do think they are unfair to young drivers. It's too easy to blame them.

Sorry about your road trip but Disneyland would more than make up for me!

Hang in there you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. After a week or so of doing those chores you'll wish they would go away again.

Poor Evan. How is he supposed to know someone is going to open a door in the middle of traffic? :headache:

Just glad no one was injured.

When are you planning DLR? I'll be there April 14th & 15th (taking a big So. Cal trip).

Cherie that is so unfair !! So if a Drunk Driver hits a Teen it is the Teens fault !! Something needs to be done about this unfair policy!!!

I don't blame the insurance ....the other party claimed 5 "witnesses" but when you look at where it happened there's no way they could say they actually saw when it happened....they might have been in the parking lot and heard something, then looked, but they couldn't have actually seen wether the door was opened long before he got there....which is what the lady claims.
And since the police weren't called it's come down to he said, she said and the adults win....how he was supposed to avoid it, I don't know...if he swerved he would have hit a parked car, which he would get blamed for too.

in august...a very impromtu trip!

I know what you mean....it was more presumed guilty untill proven innocent but there's nothing we can do at this point. It's not worth dragging it to court. If it had been a worse accident the mama bear in me would have come out and let them have it...but I am attempting to "turn the other check"................which I'm finding my neck is pretty stiff.;)

I was just catching up here and saw this - sorry it has put a wrench in your summer travel plans but very glad Evan didn't get hurt. The Disneyland alternative sounds great!

My son got into an accident in a parking lot a few days before Christmas. I was in the car with him (he only has his permit) and it clearly was the other driver's fault. She even admitted fault. The police officer took my son aside and told him that even though it was not his fault, and as unfair as it is, because he is a 16 year-old male, his insurance will go way up. Such a bummer!!

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through something similar.
On one hand I can understand because i was once a teen and I remember how we all drove....but on the other it isn't right that being a teenage boy makes you automaticaly at fault.

I know - I think back to those days and thank God I'm still alive! I'm so thankful that seat belts are a law today and it is second nature to today's kids.

it's amazing that anyone survives the teen years!
I know what you mean about the seatblets! I had never worn one untill I got married and D.jay insisted I wear one....back in the olden days before seat belt laws.

We used to fit 7 girls in a bug 3 in front 4 in back...

:rotfl2::scared1::scared1: 7 girls in a Bug - Guiness World Book of Records!!

I didn't start to wear a seat belt until my nephew was born (still before the law). His precious face made me realize I had to start being responsible.

So glad no one was hurt. :goodvibes That stinks about having to change your vacation; I hope you can work it out to still do something fun!
