What kind of tickets are used for the annual Dance The World? Are they group rate tickets? I am DVC w/ Annual Pass so being forced to stay (and pay) at non-DVC AND buy 4-day park hopper isn't lovely. The tickets are date-based but the booking company "World Class Vacations" says they date-based and cannot be used in the future unlike other tickets I have purchased in the past.

Unfortunately those probably are not upgradeable (for future use). They have a hard expiration. Due to the discount given through most youth/sports groups packages the tickets cannot be used outside of the event window (or whatever window is on the original ticket). If you find otherwise, please let me know.

I just looked and their base offering is a (3) day park hopper ticket. You can upgrade to a 4, 5 or 6 day park hopper if you chose to add more days.

All new park hopper tickets are date based with an end date. However if it is unused you should be able to apply the ticket value toward another ticket purchase at a later date including an AP. I would call World Class Vacations at 1-800-222-4432 to confirm that they are normal date based park hoppers.

Just to clarify -- I believe those are options available to select at the time of booking (or maybe for a period to change after initial booking). As I mentioned these tickets are not typically upgradeable once onsite at WDW because they aren't the standard date-based PH ticket available to the public. Tickets for most youth or sports groups are similar to the old YES tickets and due to the discount on the ticket/package they are essentially "use it or lose it" within a set date period. Typically the student/athlete must buy the offered package but the family may or may not opt to book separately. Pros and cons to both options, one "con" being the required ticket if the family already has APs.

OP is welcome to contact the travel agent again but based on what was written above it sounds like she already did ask.
