Dance Recital Costume HELP!!!

Ok, Joci has pictures tonight in her recital costume. This is our first experience with dance. I am suppose to tack the yellow and trim the rest. This is the front of her costume, then the back where I am suppose to "tack" it. Do I tack to the ouside or the inside? If to the inside, do I tack just to the edge so that they stay over the tan straps or do I go to one side of the tan straps? If I tack to the outside will the edges fray and sequins fall off?

Having been a dance mom for 8 years----5 of which my daughter has been on a competition team---if this is just pictures, I would worry about what the front looks like since they will only be photographing from the front. Safety pin it to the back where you think it will go and ask the dance teacher or studio owner or another mom from that same class where it should go and then leave it pinned there and take it home and sew it on there. The teacher should have gone over all of this before the costumes went home. I am sorry if she didn't do that. I know how frustrating costumes can be---believe me!---We have at least 3 different ones each dance year! I hope this helps!

Dance teacher here....I agree with previous poster. No big deal for pictures, safety pin is fine.
