Dance Moms - anyone still watching?

I don't think the walking out part was scripted. I think Abby truly did act like that. How incredibly rude and unprofessional.

I noticed how Abby was paying attention to her cell phone at the end of Nia's performance. Either reading or texting. I don't think she even clapped at the end of Nia's performance. However, for Kalani, she was certainly attentive. But I've got to admit that Nia's mother, Holly, seems to me to be especially annoying this season. She seems to me to be the true "stage mother" about Nia's being in videos. She's just so happy about it, and expects everyone else to be. However, based on Abby's lack of reaction to Nia's solo, and her reaction to Nia's achievements in general, maybe that's caused Holly to become the way she is.

Holly has been very supportive of Melissa and Maddie. She has been quick to speak up when Abby has said mean things the resulted in Kendall crying. I believe that she is really hurt that Melissa and Jill are not showing the same level of support for Nia.

Unlike Holly, they both are afraid to speak up when Abby is out of line.

I also enjoyed bda's much more-and when they showed the short montage of the previous entries aldc had done in the national's group division it reminded me how every year it's the same thing with them-very similar dances, with nothing demonstrating any real development/advancement in the skills of the dancers. same thing with maddie-it's like the same dance every competition just a different song, different costume-but always very similar choreography that ends w/maddie and her that constipated look on her face.

the only aldc dancers that seem to have progressed technically over the years are McKenzie and Nia. I think with McKenzie it's simply a matter of getting older and becoming less of a distraction in the group numbers (she was always so much younger she just sort of stuck out like a sore thumb for me). with Nia-you look at the muscle development on that young lady, some of the different styles she's shown herself capable on, and her ability to visually convey through her facial expressions and the way she uses her body in her solos-she is very talented and I suspect doing training outside the aldc.
I read somewhere
Nia was training here this summer at the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

that's fantastic!

nia just seems to be a very level headed young lady. I think her parents have raised her to be very polite and respectful, and weather she goes into dance (or some other aspect of performing) or something totally unrelated-she will be very successful but not at the expense of demeaning or intentionally hurting others (I think unlike some of the other parents who have let their girls drop out of attending school and are studying around their dance pursuits nia's parents put a high priority on education-she's said recently that she's hoping to attend NYU or Columbia and is interested among other things in studying physical therapy or medicine).

I love the idea that her time on the show will finance her opportunity to pursue those kinds of educational opportunities. I've seen tremendous growth in her dance, and moreso in her overall performance ability. I'm sure that is connected in many ways to the maturing and growing up she's undergone in the past few years, moving from little girl to teen. I'd be willing to bet her academics haven't been allowed to diminish either. She's just lovely.

I agree. Nia has always been my favorite and I think she is maturing nicely and is growing up to be a really lovely young woman (in spite of Abby's shenanigans). Kudos to Nia's parents.

Yesterday's show just may have put the nail in the coffin on this show for me. Scripted scripted scripted and they aren't even good at faking it anymore.

Also, I can't even enjoy watching the dances because they edit and use so many cameras that I can't even get the full effect of the dance.

Maddie is the hottest 12yr old in Hollywood right now?? Gag me! That may have been the only unscripted line in the whole episode ;)

oooooooooooooooooooooh yeah-that's why she's the secondary performer to asia in the target ad and the only videos she's ever done are as a backup performer. I haven't seen anyone rushing to cast her in anything that requires her to be anything other than a caricature of herself (and that's been only a few times over the past several years). me think's that until miss maddie comes close to the accomplishments of someone like quvenzhane wallis (I don't see maddie w/ golden globe and Oscar nominations under her belt-or w/multiple successful motion pictures completed or currently in production).

If you've seen the episode of Austin & Ally where Maddie was a guest star, you would understand why she didn't have a speaking part in the commercial. She has a long way to go before her acting ability equals her dance skills!

shhhhhhh-don't say that too loud or Melissa might hear and further cut back on maddie's schooling to facilitate more acting lessons (she only gets instruction from a tutor for a total of 12 hours per week, and attends school one day a week in between her ballet and acting classes whereas she spends 9 hours a day 6 days a week at the dance studio).

I saw on Twitter Chloe won Choice Dancer at the Teen Choice Awards. Hurray for beating Maddie! Chloe was always my favorite. I would have loved to see Abby or Melissa's face.

How great for Chloe! I, too, would have loved to see Abby and Melissa's reactions. I am sure they thought Maddie was a lock to win. Surprise!!!!

It was beautiful to see Chloe beat Maddie at the TCA. I follow a few of the moms & Nia on Twitter & only saw Nia & Holly congratulate her. She has turned into a beautiful young lady. Even Cat Deely made a cute comment about her as she walked away from them on the stage.

Loved Chloe's acceptance speech especially the last part ;)
:yay::thanks:

In the middle she also said that she thanked her teachers, all of them because they all taught her something.
Would love to hear Maddie or Abby on Chloe's comments about someone trying to bring you down

I noticed that too! Only Nia and Holly said anything publicly about it. Brooke tweeted that she'd love to see the look on your face. I'm assuming she meant Abby.

Did anyone see the reunion last night? I was happy to see people finally telling Melissa, Jill, and Abby what's up. Even the producers seemed to be sick of Abby's nonsense.

I don't even know what I watched last night.
They brought in Jeanette for 30 seconds. Why?
Something seems way off. Is this the end for Dance Moms? Who's coming back?

I agree.
I keep feeling like I missed something last night.
I had read somewhere a few weeks ago that Nia said she would back but Maddie was undecided and nothing on the other girls. But after last night, IDK, seemed like a send off and a bad one at that.
When has a reunion been only one hour? Isn't there usually a part two?

The whole beginning seemed off, with Abby texting and then holding up the cards, but then she started talking right away. They kept showing the producer which was weird. they never explained why Abby was kicked out for a week. This was the first real mention of it, other than the moms just saying Abby wasn't around for that week. I wish they would've explained things more.
The kids weren't brought out, only to dance. Maybe the hour long shows for them were enough?

I understand they aren't junior competitors anymore but what the heck?

Jill is out of her mind crazy, IMO. Trying to say Holly has become "Hollywood" and then trying to say Nia didn't go to school and she wouldn't quit it. SHe's crazy jealous I think that Holly got Nia a real manager and KEndall will always be number 3 behind Maddy and Mackenzie.
