Dance Moms - anyone still watching?

Anyone watch this week? I do have to say, those LA girls are leaps and bounds better than ALDC. I have no idea how they lost the group number. Actually, it was kids judging right? So kids will want the famous ALDC kids to win right? Not exactly fair.

Nia won!! Nia beat Kalani!! However, Abby is still a witch. No solo for Nia...

And the Jill/Kendall episode?? I guess I forgot how Jill has acted over the years or maybe she was over shadowed by all the other screaming moms (Kristie and Kelly) but man, she's annoying! In the beginning when she wouldn't let Kendall talk about why she got into dance?? OMG!! It's a question for your KID, Jill!!

I never really cared for her and that episode confirmed how I feel about her! My DD told me I better never act like that!

Abby is an ***. That fake hug she gave Nia after the girls danced was just sick.

I wanted Jess and Jill to ask if rule change meant their kids would have a shot at a solo now.

On a positive note. Has anyone had a chance to listen to Nia's new song Slay? That girl is talented and Abby is too stupid or stubborn to see it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Abby could kick herself now. She is stubborn and at this point, too proud to make amends.

Jill has always been super annoying.

I agree. The LA kids look WAY better onstage than ALDC. The girls in ALDC haven't had a chance to grow as dancers. Too concerned with other things.

I just got caught up....the look on Abby's face when Nia won was priceless but I knew she'd find some way to not give Nia a solo.

I noticed how Abby was paying attention to her cell phone at the end of Nia's performance. Either reading or texting. I don't think she even clapped at the end of Nia's performance. However, for Kalani, she was certainly attentive. But I've got to admit that Nia's mother, Holly, seems to me to be especially annoying this season. She seems to me to be the true "stage mother" about Nia's being in videos. She's just so happy about it, and expects everyone else to be. However, based on Abby's lack of reaction to Nia's solo, and her reaction to Nia's achievements in general, maybe that's caused Holly to become the way she is.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here before and I apologize if it has been discussed already, but I think I just saw Maddie in a Target commercial. Has anyone else seen it? It's her, right?

loved watching nationals tonight-although according to a spoiler site there were 2 other individual aldc competitors who performed solos at the competition that were not mentioned nor aired on the episode (and one being an abby favorite only placing 4th in her division).

Abby and Melissa made complete *sses of themselves in last night's episode. I know it's all edited, but really! You just walk off and tell your kids to walk off! My DD is a dancer and was invited to be on her school's tap production team this season (first time they are doing a large tap group). If my daughter or her teachers ever acted that way, that would be it for us (and I know it would never happen with our group). Bunch of spoiled brats!

I actually like Ava and her mom. Maybe it's because Ava is super tall and lanky, just like my DD, and so I see a lot of my DD in her dancing. I thought Ava's dance was great (although that outfit was a bit skimpy for my taste). Maddie's dances always look the same and I've said it before and I'll say it again....same facial expressions. She always looks constipated to me (DD and I joke about it all the time).

I also preferred Ava's group dance over the ALDC. Is it just me or have Abby's group dances lately been more "theatrical" and more "acting" than actual dancing? I like to see dancing and pretty costumes (The ALDC group costumes last night look like they were just thrown together).

I agree with the PP that mentioned Holly being annoying this year. But I think they needed a "bad" guy this year and she's it (they got rid of Kelly & Christie so they need someone to pick on and it's Nia this season). I was proud of her and Jess for not walking out though. The other moms are just tag a long followers who will do anything Abby tells them, blindly.

Oh well. Guess we will see what is said at the reunion next year!

I actually think it may be Asia doing the voiceover at the end of the commercial. I can see Abby taking credit for the success -- while conveniently overlooking the fact superstar Maddie didn't get that part of the gig.

I know editing is a huge factor in this show but I thought Abby was disgraceful last night. That's what you teach your kids? To walk off the stage just because you didn't win? Sore losers.

I have to admit I laughed when the group and Maddie especially placed second. I thought BDA's group dance was way more entertaining. I rolled my eyes so hard at the end of ALDC's group dance.

I also enjoyed bda's much more-and when they showed the short montage of the previous entries aldc had done in the national's group division it reminded me how every year it's the same thing with them-very similar dances, with nothing demonstrating any real development/advancement in the skills of the dancers. same thing with maddie-it's like the same dance every competition just a different song, different costume-but always very similar choreography that ends w/maddie and her that constipated look on her face.

the only aldc dancers that seem to have progressed technically over the years are McKenzie and Nia. I think with McKenzie it's simply a matter of getting older and becoming less of a distraction in the group numbers (she was always so much younger she just sort of stuck out like a sore thumb for me). with Nia-you look at the muscle development on that young lady, some of the different styles she's shown herself capable on, and her ability to visually convey through her facial expressions and the way she uses her body in her solos-she is very talented and I suspect doing training outside the aldc.

I didn't get to watch the show last night but had read some of the spoiler sites so I think I understand somewhat of why Abby walked out. I think she thought the whole judging sheets were screwed up since Kalani won first in the duet/trio division, which she did not compete in. If they had Kalani's division and scores messed up then possibly all of the division and scores were messed up such as older kids in the younger division or vice versa. But Abby is nuts so who can say for sure? But what I read seems like that if this was Nationals, that those kind of mistakes should not be made at this level.

Yesterday's show just may have put the nail in the coffin on this show for me. Scripted scripted scripted and they aren't even good at faking it anymore.

Also, I can't even enjoy watching the dances because they edit and use so many cameras that I can't even get the full effect of the dance.

Maddie is the hottest 12yr old in Hollywood right now?? Gag me! That may have been the only unscripted line in the whole episode
