Hi, I'm new to this section of the boards so I guess I will start with a little background info.

I am 28 years old, 5'4'' tall, work full time and have no kids. I have always struggled with my weight and seem to put weight on easily. I have yo yo dieted for years. 2 1/2 years ago I started weight watchers and stuck to it for a year and a half. I was determined to loose weight for my WDW holiday and I managed to loose 60lb. It wasn't my target weight but I was happy with what I had achieved. However once back of holiday I couldn't get back into the diet and gave up. Over the last year I have put 42lb of that back on :( So now I am starting again. I have 57lb to loose to get to my final target weight. I want to be 120lb by the time I next go to WDW at Christmas 2005. Really I would like to loose the 57lb by next summer and have managed to maintain my weight by the WDW trip. As I am really busy with my job I can not attend weight watchers classes but I know the diet really well anyway and have the points calculators etc at home to help me work out points of various foods. However I feel that I need somewhere where I am accountable for my losses/gains each week. I guess making them more public gives me more of an incentive, so I thought I would try to keep a journal.

I started my diet on Monday (weighing 177lb) and have done well so far, sticking to my points each day. Right now I am on holiday from work and find these times the hardest when I am in the house more and have less to do. I find when I am at work and I have a set routine I am good at sticking to the diet. Saying that I am trying to keep busy at the moment. My husband and I are building another room on the back of our house ourselves (it is almost done) and we have decided to put our gym equimpent into it. We have various pieces of equimpent but never use them as we didn't have space. I guess having a dedicated excercise room will help. So hopefully in 2 weeks time I will be able to excercise every day too (I am putting a TV in there so I can excersie whilst I watch TV in the evening!)

I hope I will be able to stick to it better this time. I am setting myself little targets and have decided on rewards for myself when I reach them. Hopefully I will do better this time.

Thanks for reading (sorry it was so long.)

Dana, welcome to the WISH Journal board! I know that journaling has helped me stick with my healthy living goals and hopefully it will help you too!

Congratulations on losing 60 pounds using Weight Watchers! You've done this before so you already have some ideas about what works for you. Now it's just a matter of persistance! ::yes:: You can do it!! :sunny:

I've lost and then gained some back, so I know how tough it can be, but we've got to keep trying. The alternative is to just let ourselves keep growing, and I know neither of us want that.

Your exercise room sounds great! Bet you can't wait to finish it and move all the equipment in!

Hope you have a great day!! :sunny:

Thanks Doreen. I don't want to get any bigger. Actually slimming down enough to fit into the clothes I bought when I visited America last year would be nice. I love shopping in America, all those designer outlet malls and the fact that the clothes sizes are smaller (when I was a UK size 12 leat year I was buying an American 9 or 10!!)
Today I have been really good. I had salad for lunch and dinner with some meat. I found some low point cookie and vanilla ice cream bars which are yummy which I had for desert. I need to concentrate on having more water though as I know I don't drink enough. I still have 6 points left and it is 7pm here. I might treat myself to a glass of wine when I get back from my rehearsal at the theatre!!
:wave2:

I'm struggling today as I seem to be really hungry. I have had a few snacks but I counted them in my points so I will not go over. I've been drinking lots of water but still seem to be hungry. I'm trying really hard not to eat anything else. I'm determined not to have anything else to eat though.

I have done well today so far. My husband and I are going out with friends this evening to an open air concert and firework display. They are taking a few nibbles and some drinks. But I planned ahead and decided what nibbles I could eat and made sure I had enough points to do this. Hopefully the evening will be nice and I will stick to my points. I will have my first weigh in on Monday and I hope I have done well. I am pleased that I have not gone over my points so far.

Welcome to WISH, Dana!

Best of luck to you in acheiving your goals! You have done so well this week, I hope you have a wonderful weigh in! :)

I mananged to do well last night and had a great evening. I stuck to the nibbles I had taken and resisted the lovely looking cream cake my friend had made.
Today has started off well but I haven't planned what I am having for dinner yet. I have not had many points so far for breakfast and lunch so should be OK. This afternoon I have a dance rehearsal so should burn some calories there, plus I will be busy so will not have chance to snack.

Yesterday was mine and DH's wedding anniversary so I went a little over on points (only 3) but that is OK, I will have less today.
I had my first weigh in this morning and have lost 5lb this week which I am really pleased with. 5 down, 53 to go!!

This evening we had a roast dinner. I was really good though as I only had some chicken and some vegetables and didn't have any roast potatos.

Keep up the good work! Hope i can be as disciplined as you.
Was your outdoor concert at Clumber park??:wave2:

No the concert was at Stanford house (just off the M1 junction 19).

Yesterday I went to my parents and went for a spa day with my mum. I swam quite a few lengths of the pool and did some gym work. I wasn't sure how many points I had to eat but I ate sensibly and am fairly sure I didn't go over.

Today has been a good day too. I have been doing lots of DIY so have been busy. I planned my points for the day with a few to spare for a snack later if I am hungry. I have another dance rehearsal to go to this evening too which should burn some callories.

I am just going to make dinner now. Beef with some seasoning on and some vegetables. Then an asda good for you desert.

Dana, you're doing great and you're down 5 pounds!!! Congratulations!

I've got to ask about all your rehearsals. Are you in a show? I love theater and enjoyed acting when younger. Maybe when my teenagers (15 and 16 years old) are grown, I'll have time to be in some local productions.

Hang in there and make it a great day!! :sunny:

Yes I am in a local theatre company and I help to run a theatre and arts centre in my spare time. Right now we are rehearsing for the Sound of Music which we are performing next month for 5 nights. Music and the theatre are one of my passions. I love singing and dancing and did my graduate degree in music and I often play in the orchestras for shows as well (I play the trumpet.)

I have done quite well over these past few days but I have eaten at my parents and my inlaws houses so it was hard to count points. I ate sensibly though and don't think I went over my points. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I weigh in again.

Hi Dana,

Welcome to WISH JOURNALS. You will find some great support here. CONGRATULATIONS on losing 5 pounds your first week. You are doing great, and I think you need to get a clippie. It is amazin how that little clip art can motivate someone. I'm sending some :wizard: for your weigh in tomorrow.
Beth

Keep up the good work Dana!!!!

Just knowing that I could lose 60 pounds while doing WW thrills me. I'm 208 and should be at 130-135 for my height, but would be a happy camper if I could get to 140. I have my first weight-in on Tuesday.

For those munchies, I try and go for the carrots or low calorie snack foods that I stock up on. Keep drinking lots and lots of water. I feel sometimes that I'm going to float away, but just think of how healthy your bladder will be ;)

Thanks for all the encouragement.
I had my second weigh in this morning and I have lost another 1lb. I was a bit dissapointed that I didn't loose a little more but I guess 1lb is better than staying the same or putting on weight.

Total so far - 6lb lost, 51lb to go.

Well I am mid way through the week and have been good so far. I have stuck to my points and have not weighed myself mid week (I have a bad habbit of weighing myself a lot throughout the week!) I have a wedding to go to on Saturday but hopefully I will be able to save points up and just eat sensibly.

Welcome to WISH journaling!

Congratulations on your 6 pound weight loss!:jumping1: That is wonderful!!! Keep up the good work!

Have a great day!:sunny:

Tracy:wave:

Keep it up Dana! Drinks lot of water before you head to the reception and you'll be fine.

CONGRATULATIONS DANA! 6 pounds gone forever. As for the wedding, the flex points are there for a reason, just drink tons of water. Oh yeah, have a great time.
Beth
