Day 12 New Years Day - Down Town Disney and Disney Quest
The cast:

Pete, my husband, hates planning, goes along with what we happen to be doing
Andrew, best friend and Disney mad
Sue, best friend, married to Andrew, also Disney mad but doesnt often admit it (although admits it more these days!)
I woke up earlier than I though I would at 8am so I decided to get up and pack a few things as we leave tomorrow (I really dont want to go home!) At 9:30 the room service breakfast arrived. We decided to treat ourselves and had ordered a mixed breakfast for 4 people. We had coffee and juice, bacon, sausage, potatoes and scrambled eggs, toast and jelly and a selection of pastries. Once we were full we tidied up and headed out in the car to DTD. We got there by 10:30 and headed off shopping. Firstly we headed to the Disney Store to get a few gifts for home, then we went to the animation shop and bought a print. It is kind of metallic with Mickey on and the symbols of each of the 4 parks along with a few other Disney characters and the words where magic lives across the bottom. By now it was time to head to Disney Quest. I have never been to Disney Quest before so was unsure what to expect. I had read about cyber space mountain though so we headed there first. We tried to pick a variety of coaster elements and our first coaster was rated a 3 out of 5. We went to the ride simulator and rode out design, although it was good fun we thought the design was too mild for us so once out we went to design another coaster. This time we choose a danger piece ever time and this coaster was rated extreme, 5 out of 5. It had 7 loops and 2 side movements. This time the ride was really good.
Next we decided to try Jungle Cruise which was also fun but hard work!! As we were tired by now we decided to head to the top floor to get a drink. We found a seat by a computer in the cyber café and posted a happy new year message on the Dis. We decided then to try out some of the video games which were fun. We rode the sea racers and the star wars ships, then did some of the classic video games.
By now we felt like doing a little more shopping. Pete went to Virgin to get a few CDs and then I went to the surf shop to buy some more Roxy tops. We were soon shopped out and headed back to the villa to get ready for dinner at Citricos. We were at the Grand Floridian for 5:10 and we were seated straight away. The meal was lovely but we were all still full from the huge breakfast so we couldnt manage a desert. We were back at the BCV for 7:45 so we decided to have a coffee and then open a bottle of champagne. At 8:50 we decided to head down to the beach to watch illuminations for one last time. Tonight though the show had gone back to its regular ending so it was not as impressive as other nights. After the fireworks had finished we decided to go for one last stroll around the Boardwalk which was lovely as the weather was so warm. Then we headed back to the villa for a relax before bed. We wanted to get a good nights sleep ready for our 7 hour 40 minute aeroplane trip tomorrow evening.
