Also, Yahoo groups has two pretty big groups- one is gfcf kids, the other is the TACA group, there are tons of messages so be prepared, but I have found them to be a great resource.
We've only been to the DAN once, because he doesn't take insurance *plus* he's about two hours away. But I was pleased, because he told me what I knew was the right answer, that everyone else didn't listen to me. He made suggestions and started us on Nystatin for yeast, plus the usual probiotics, enzymes, gfcf and rotation, etc etc.
The Nystatin cleared up the eczema and asthma in about a week, and we knew we were onto something.
Our local family dr has been very receptive. We've had lab work done since then that confirmed many many IgG food allergies, a huge yeast overgrowth (so the DAN was right!), all sorts of other stuff. She's not a DAN but she listens and is willing to try things if they are reasonable, and hearing what the DAN told me plus the result of the Nystatin and the lab work, she's been very willing and cooperative.
I don't know when we'll actually be able to get back to the DAN but he started us down the right path. As long as I'm able to keep learning, and our doctor is willing to listen, and interpret the stuff I don't understand

... there are people that do it on their own with no support... I would still recommend seeing a DAN at least once, though, it did really help us out.
