Looking at renting a car with National I noticed that there Damage Insurance is only good for btw $500-$3000 worth of damage is this a National thing I always thought it covered the cost of the vehical? I have a credit card that covers damage but like not having to worry about getting stuck at the rental agancy filling out a bunch of paper work if for some reason there is damage.

If I just use my credit Card what is the process if there is damage done? Don't have a bunch of time to waste at the agency.

Double check to see if there are choices in damage insurance, for example:
a. They pay the first $500. and you (or your insurance company) pays the rest,
b. They pay the first $3000. and you pay the rest.
c. You pay the first $500. and they pay the next $2500. and you pay what is left, over $3000.
d. They pay all. Or practically all since there is still a limit, typically $25000.
e. etc.

If you use a credit card, you still have to fill out the paperwork. The only time there may be (not always be) less paperwork is if you choose the option that costs the most.

To use the credit card's damage coverage, you must decline all of the damage coverage the rental agency offers.

You should always file paperwork with your own insurance company regardless of what coverages or credit cards you use. If you used a credit card's damage coverage, you need to file paperwork with them, too.
