Daily Grind - It's Monday, May 3rd

ugghh, it's Monday, it's raining in southern New England. Did I mention it was raining? Doesn't get much worse with the exception of being up most of the night and starting today at 3:30 am. Caffeine, here I come.

Deb's off in Vegas, dancing in the streets, and doing cha-ching with the slot machines!

My to do list for today:

Strip the bed and remake bed
Throw a load of whites into the washer
Look at my laundry on the clothes line getting a rain rinse.
Upload pictures from camera to computer
Balance checkbook
pay bills
get DD up and ready for school. This is going to be
caffeinate
work
dinner
should go to Special Olympic swim but doubt we will. I still haven't let DD go into a deep pool since her seizure. Not ready for that. Would be a wreck that she would seizure in the deep end and I couldn't get her out. Going to use the excuse of us being up all night not to go. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

run to town this morning and get a few more supplies
start cutting AK swap elements (must get this 1/2 done or 3/4 done by May 19th , graduation party)

upload photos and have them printed today (pick them up before mtg @ 6:30pm)
cut the name cards to be completed at 4-H meeting for scrapbook
put laundry in kids' rooms to be put away before 4-H meeting

elem homework duty (3 weeks of school left)
pick up DS13 from school
DS13 to finish his summary of his rube goldberg project
DH and DS13 to put final touches and 4 test runs on project (working like a charm last night... we raised the flag in 10 steps w/ 5 simple machines...)

Joyah- Sorry to hear about them having fun without you- it is probably something they like every so often but if it was for more than a couple of days it would be a different story.
Lisa- I know you are concerned although if she loves to swim it will be hard to keep her out for too long.
DIT- I bet they are glad you took lots of photos

Lisa, ya gotta do whatcha gotta do! She'll survive without swimming.

Joyah, so sorry the boys did not miss you appropriately. Bread and water for them! And maybe you can get a way a little more often until they DO miss you!!!!

PBF, do you need me to bring you a vanload of water? It was SO great to meet you - and Dimples would like some more of that root beer please. She says it beats eating plain old roots (not that she would know)

DH did not say one word about the piles of stuff I brought in. This morning he told me the closet looked nice and I said yeah I need to expand my scrapbook storage - with all the stores going out of business . . . he finished the sentence for me "you need to stock up." I can't believe - HE GETS IT!

Today

Gym, done. I think my arms are going to fall off.
Groceries done. There was a line at the coop waiting for the doors to open and everybody rushed for the half price meat.
Health insurance cancelled. We were able to replace it and save ~1500 clams a year.
Dehydrated from the weekend - drink more water
finish the closet and start something else.

I went to bed at 2, couldn't sleep.
Then my mom calls at 6:30, wanted to make sure we were up in time to take DD to her at school then book it to our school.
Got to school early, everyone was impressed!!! I am always late! LOL
Loaded up 300 lunches in my car.
Drove in the rain to the Science museum
unloaded car with help from all the chaperones
toured the whole museum in 3 hours
dropped my group off at the bus
took the boys to lunch
hit trader joes
got DD
and now I'm home.

my house is trashed but I am so tired I could barely drive home. I think it's PB&J for dinner, then off to bed.

We loved meeting you, too! Glad we got to sit and relax over at least one nice meal (but at least the other one was kinda free!)! I'll share my root beer with her anytime!

The "Great Boston Water Crisis" may be over in 48 (more) hours, IF the federal testing and the pipe repairs go ok. Our NH stock-up of water, plus what we've been boiling will hold out at least that long. But, am not doing laundry until we're back online. (A nice excuse, anyway!)

DH has had a puffy and very painful foot for the past few days - so nothing much got done around here while we were at CKC. Diagnosis today from the doc: gout! (Isn't that the "old guy who eats too much food" disease? DH was not amused when I asked that - can't imagine why? Hee hee...) Got some meds and that should help - we'll see. I do feel bad for him as he limps around here...

My dad gets gout all the time... He says it's because he eats a lot of red meat... whether thats true or not I have no glue...but it's funny to see him wobble from time to time and remind him "he's old".... LOL

Great. Meds have made DH VERY sick. Tried to contact his doctor an hour or so ago, but they are gone for the night, of course. It is gonna be a long night...
