Daily Grind- 3/8/13

Good Morning Ladies! Sleepless morning- which is bad because I will be tired but good because I get a few free moments to get on the boards (especially since my phone is not working).

Jen- Delayed Congrats on the new job.

I have to work today. Then off to a wake (prayers and pixie dust needed. My DH’s friend from HS last her battle with cancer at 36. Her family, friends, and son will need a lot of prayers). Then Saturday and Sunday are non-stop as well with sports, two birthday parties, etc. Have a great weekend ladies!!

Our weekends are going to start kicking up again... our hiatus of activities are over... but this will make the rest of the school year fly by!!

boys up and movin'
once over house
DS16 to school/work
DS12 to school
home for a nap (slept well last night sure didn't want to get up)
scrap room cut titles/journal some pages/ template AK Entrance page
await text from DD on her way out to door for her drive home (I get my baby girl home for a week!!!!! We are all so excited.. the boys are thrilled - they already have 2-3 date nights that I know of... I'm so glad they get along so well and go do things together)
prep DD's favorite dinner
pick up DS12
get DS12's track bag ready; practice starts on Monday
await DS16 to get home from work
DS16 to try on all business professional clothes/ business casual for weekend competition
get suits into garment bags so it will be easier to pack Sunday AM (gone for 2 nights; 3 days)
dinner
movie night w/the family
bed early because we have Regional basketball game early on Saturday

Thank you, Michelle. I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's friend. Scary scary stuff.

I haven't spoken to my mom this morning. They sent her home yesterday (after determining it was just an "attack"). I'll give her a call later.

We have about 8 inches on the ground and more coming at the rate of an inch or two an hour until around noon, but the school only has a 2 hour delay. Yeah, no, I don't think so. The (very very busy) street in front of my house is covered in snow, and no sidewalks have been plowed...yet, my house is too close for a bus and my kid is technically a walker. So not going to happen. If it clears up later, I'll go into work, but for right now, we're not going anywhere. Very bad call by the Superintendent.

So...DH is on his way home. Luckily, he's fewer than 10 miles away. For now, we're hunkering down. See what happens after it stops.

Danielle, wish I could help with your dinner this weekend.

I hope everyone is feeling warm & good - don't know how ya'll can handle all that snow, I would be nuts (come August when I have over 100 then ya'll wonder how I deal with it )

DH is still looking at the laptop but should start getting ready for work soon
Nan picked out a great LO for me to use on test track so I can start on that soon
otherwise it is me time until 2 when boys get home
supper will be spagetti tonight

They finally realized that it was stupid to have school and canceled it. Boss called about 5 minutes after the reverse 911 and said to stay home. DH is here now and we're staying put!

Good morning ladies. No snow today....so it's off to work for me.

Thanks for all the responses about my dinner tomorrow. Everything is worked out, but now I have to head to Sam's Club tonight and I wasn't planning that in my schedule. Will have to make adjustments and just put in an extra late night. I'm over my tantrum.

I'm so happy. My oldest DS came home last night and told me he is going to prom. He was dead set against going, but decided it wouldn't be so bad. He asked the girl he wanted to go with and she said YES! I'm so glad he found the courage to ask her.

Anyway, here' my day:

Boys to school
Me to work
Lunch with 2 co-workers
Hopefully get out of work early
Run for wrapping paper & cards
Get 5 boys from the bus - we have 2 extras for the weekend (I must be nuts!)
Dinner?
Run to Sam's Club
Prep mac & cheese - will bake tomorrow
Get everything organized to take tomorrow - there's SO MUCH STUFF!

Jen - Hope your mom is doing better today
Reddy - Love the test track car
Nan - yeah for having DD home
Michelle - prayers to all of you. So very scary.

We have a snow day here to. Everyone is home, my boss called about 15 minutes before I was due at work and told me not to come in. As I couldn't get out of my driveway I told him I hadn't planned on being on time anyway.

So I am going to work on laundry, and play with paper!

no cleared sidewalks, crappy roads, nope my kids wouldn't be walking either...
With our crap snow this week we didn't have a 2 hour delay or anything... they had standardized testing (round 1 of 2)... well, testing was to start at 8:45am... DS12 said they finally started at 10:45am when the last bus FINALLY arrived...

Danielle, good luck this weekend.. sorry you have an additional stop tonight but the kids will appreciate it all!!!

Afternoon ladies...

I'm back home after 5 days in WDW with Dad - we had a wonderful time, met up with two nephews, brother and SIL too. Dad was here for nine days before the WDW trip and we did a lot here too: went to the Keys, Everglades, Casino, shopping - it was a great trip!

So before we left WDW our HOA puts out a notice to make sure to keep our doors and windows locked, garage doors closed and alarms on for there had been a couple break ins. A little surprising since we live in a gated community with roving security. So...I'm going out to run an errand and my next door neighbor sees me and tells me, his place was broken into!! It happened while he was at HOME...sleeping!! First of all, he is in the USAF, is military police and has a German Shepard!!! He said neither he or the dog woke up. They stole his car, antiques and all of his electronics. Come to find out from him that two other break ins have happened on our street, during the day and when people are home!!! They are young guys, under the age of 22 and they are using force - unbelievable!!! Needless to say doors and windows are locked and the alarm system is on....

Hope everyone is doing well , will need to catch up on a couple weeks worth of posts to c what everyone has been up to.

Snowed in today. No school, again. This is getting really old.

DD's birthday was yesterday but DH came home super late last night so we celebrated today. He won Daddy of the year award because I sent him to Georgetown Cupcakes before coming home. DD loves their show, DC cupcakes, so she was thrilled with her surprise.

Today we are shoveling out. DH is headed to the chiropractor and the store to get milk. Other than that we are chilling at home.

It has finally stopped snowing!!! We ended up with about 14 inches, so muck for the 2-4 they were calling for.

They've postponed Saturday's "Legally Blonde" performance until Monday because of our predicted 8-14 inches by tomorrow night.

late posting today, we were up and out before 7 this morning for the Concert Choir and Mixed Choir festival, just got home a little bit ago, I'm one tired mama! decided we are going to have a quiet, lazy weekend to rest up! Megan's hand is still painful, but better

We were in the 2"-4" zone, but we did get more than we bargained for - about 8 or 9 inches. No school delays for us as the city I teach in only had 2-3 inches The town I love in had a 2 hr delay.

Going to spend the day tomorrow with Lisa (CT) scrapping. Looking forward to it as it has been many months since i was able to get there.

It has finally stopped snowing!!! We ended up with about 14 inches, so muck for the 2-4 they were calling for.

Uh, slightly off? I'm not sure how much we got, it sure looks like a lot though! We were always in the 5-10, which was updated to 6-15+ at some point yesterday...(I love that + sign, can't go wrong with that, next time they should just say 0-1+ and that'll cover their butts). Good news is it's March and will more than likely not stick around too long. We can hope!
