Daily afternoon rain/storm/thunder....tips?

Hi everyone

Leaving for our trip on the 21st! Looking at the weather forcast and seeing the usual scorching heat with ridiculous humidity...not complaining thoughWondering what to expect for the afternoon rain...last time we went this wasn't an issue because of the time of year we went.

Does anyone pack raincoats...ponchos? Given the humidity and heat, I am picturing 4 sweltering Canadians wrapped in plastic ponchos...not pretty LOL!

I find we sweat too much with the plastic ponchos.....we've usually just ducked for cover until the rain ended....

We just returned home..there was not rain every day..we had one evening rain and one suppertime thunderstorm!

We pack ponchos and wear them when necessary. I keep a plastic grocery bag in the backpack that I use to hold the wet ponchos when we're done with them. Yes, you'll be hot and sweaty. But guess what? You're going to be hot and sweaty anyway. But if there is thunder and lightning - find someplace inside until its over.

We're planning to just not be in the parks in the afternoon, so we won't have to worry about it, lol. Mornings or evenings only. We may try one afternoon for the FoF, but we'll just do indoor rides or shops during the rain.

We have always brought a hooded weather resistent jacket. They fold up into a backpack or you can tie them around your waist. An extra pair of dry socks is helpful and DON'T wear Jeans (it always amazes me that no matter how crazy hot it can get you will still see people wearing jeans.)
