Which DAH would you choose if you had to pick one and why? We already have EMM booked for HS but that only includes TSL. Interested in doing DAH at either MK or AK...thoughts?

(This is assuming they release dates for them for August)

For us it would definitely be MK as we enjoy a variety of rides. We've chosen not to do any of the EMM as it's often restricted to only a handful of rides. DAH in MK offers more ride variety than AK if that interests you.

I would do MK; there are more rides there. AK would be nice to get on FoP and Everest but that's about it.

MK--there are many more rides that are hard to get FP for, and it truly is a completely different experience. We did the nighttime one and it was soooo worth every penny. We got on everything, multiple times. Takes all the pressure off.

It really depends on a few things:
1) family size/ages, as this will impact what rides are most important to you.
2) vacation length and other park days/plans.

We did AK and loved it, but we also didn’t have any other park days at all that trip. 3+ hours in AK was enough to do all the available rides 2+ times and eat some snacks without feeling rushed.

I would choose mk. The overall atmosphere is awesome and I love being able to hear the music throughout the park. I also like that there are more rides at mk.

I got free tickets from a CM the first year they did DAH and it was awesome being in the park when it was so empty. im curious as to when this becomes the new way to do the parks. With the price of tickets goimg up every year and even twice a year i can go to DAH and enter the park a couple hours bedore close and easily do all the rides after the regular park guest leave without planning. It leaves the rest of my day to relax and enjoy the pools or Disney Springs and spend just as much on park tickets as i would have to go all day and be stressed by waiting in lines. By doing other parks besides MK with the DAH it does leave one to wonder if my trips could be better with only goimg to parks at night.

Well here’s my situation: we have 3 kids, 16,9,2. We currently have 2 whole days planned at MK. I was on the fence about doing EMM vs DAH. The 2 year old might not be able to stay up that late but we could just take the older 2 kids and do in room babysitting for the little. I do like that it includes the whole park rather than just fantasyland. We are doing EMM at TSL so I don’t feel bad leaving the little one at the hotel. Lol But I also love AK and would love to be able to do the new rides without the crazy crowds. This is my dilemma. We have 1 AK day planned but also an open day that I was saving for whichever park we wanted to do again. And with 4 people to pay for it’s not in the budget to do both parks for DAH.

THIS - more or less - is one of my concerns about doing too many DAH's. If it was only $10, like back in the goo ol' days, I wouldn't be as worried.

Even the current ticket expiration policy has me concerned.

On a recent trip, we planned to go back to AK, but took an afternoon nap and slept longer than intended.

Other times, we've run into something like an injury/illness or really bad weather that = we didn't get to do what we wanted.

One trip, no prepaid events, but at the start of trip forecast was supposed to be high of 60 first day then improve to mid 70's rest of the week. Never happened. Instead temps were like 60, 58, 50, 50, 50, 48. PM's were especially cold. I packed mostly shorts, so had to do laundry twice due to wearing long pants and layers.

(Good lesson: I now always bring a few extra tanks/layering shirts that can be worn solo if temps higher than expected or as layers if temps are cool.)

Two nights were especially bitter cold and very windy. 4/5 layers wasn't enough. Sure, MK was empty, but I'm glad we hadn't paid extra. We did manage to ride Space Mtn a few times in a row, but crossing the hub was very cold, and we left before fireworks.

We did both in February. The parks were definitely NOT empty but they weren't crowded as MNSSHP. MK was awesome and I'd happily pay to do that again- all rides were a walk on, the longest we waited was 15-20 mins for PP and 7DMT. It was great! On the other hand, I did not find AK worth it- it could have been an off night but FOP was up to a 90 minute wait for most of the night and it looked like they only had 1 section/theater of the ride open. We rode FOP once, EE a few times, and Navi once (it was a walk on all night).

I booked the MK and HS. I had EMM’s in case they didn’t release dates, but will cancel those. It really depends on what your family likes as to which is better. I couldn’t decide, so we’re doing both. I’m especially thrilled May 4 was the day we needed for HS.

It’s amazing how doing these frees up your days. We can do a lot more resort time and FP’s are a lot less important. I’ve got FP’s for the headliners for the DAH days scheduled just before the ah’s start just in case lines are longer than I want, but I’m loving the schedule we’re able to do.

I never planned on AK after hours. FOP is really the only ride we care that much about that’s open and of all the parks, AK seems to get the most negative reviews. Turns out it was a good thing as they don’t offer AK dates for our stay.

This is tough. The cost comes out to $530 for us 4. I really want to do AK because I want to be in pandora at night but I’m afraid it will be a waste of $ bc the FoP line might still be ridiculously long. But with 2 full days at MK I’m not sure we would benefit doing DAH there. This is tough. I really want to do an after hours event though I love the parks late at night. So much fun!!!

My plan for AK is to get in line for FOP just before closing. By the time we get off, it will be dark and we can take our time leaving. I have a FP for FOP, but doing it at closing too let’s me see Pandora at night. My decision was made easier because there’s only 2 of us and I get an AP discount.
