This trip is from This past Saturday.

My wife had to leave for a few days to take care of her brother, so I was to be left alone with my DD2 :scared1: I decided that we needed a Daddy and Daughter Date Day, since it had been a while. It took me all of three seconds to decide to take her to Disneyland. While a friend took care of the wee one, I prepared for our day by getting sandwiches, snacks, drinks, clothes, etc ready to grab on the way out.

I woke my DD up bright and early (5:30 a.m.) and were out the door by 6 a.m. :drive: We got to the parking structure at 6:45 and were let right in. The tram CM asked DD if she was going to go on Dumbo and from then on that is all that I heard about while we waited to enter.:hyper:

The gates were open and it was every man, woman and child for themselves.:) We walked straight into Fantasyland where the place was a ghosttown. We did all of the rides (Dumbo twice) and were on our way to Tootown by 8:45. I had forgotten about the Princess Storybook area and DD said she wanted to go there first. Boy am I glad we did. Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White were there and I couldn’t believe how good the characters are with the kids. DD was in heaven talking with the princesses. Cinderella spent a good 5 minutes talking to DD and even walked her over to visit with Aurora. She had just as much fun with Aurora and Snow White and had the biggest grin when we she was done. :cloud9:

We then went into Toontown at about 9:45. We saw Goofy in the park and stopped to say hello and then we made our way to Mickey’s house. The line was out of the door and I thought, no way am I waiting in that line. So we went on Goofy’s rollercoaster and as we got off, I asked someone coming out of Mickey’s house how long they waited. Come to find out Mickey was just inside the front door. My DD got to spend a little time with Mickey as he was about to go on a break. We started walking through the house and who comes walking up behind us, Mickey. He gives DD another hug and pats her on the hand and away he goes. We left his house and decided to go on Cartoon Spin. When we came out, we saw Pluto and Minnie (DD’s very favorite character). We got pics with Pluto, but Minnie was going on a break, so she just got to give her a quick hug. Even that made DD’s day, again.

Against my better judgement, we went onto IASW (don’t want that song stuck in my head). We walked right onto the ride. Much to my surprise, they changed the ride to include lots of Christmas songs. I really enjoyed seeing the ride all decked out. DD was singing the song by the time we got off IASW so I could tell she enjoyed the ride too.

A little note about the crowds. This entire morning, the crowds seemed really light. Even Toontown was not very crowded, so we were able to do all of this within 3 hours while going at a leisurely pace. Remember that we walked right onto a boat at IASW, but by the time we got off of the ride there was a 20-30 minute wait. :crowded: At this point we made our way to Frontierland.

As we passed by BTTR, on our way to POTC, and saw people getting off of the ride receiving Dream Fastpasses. DD is only 36” so there was no way to get on the ride in hopes of getting the Fastpass, oh well. We stopped to watch the comedy act in front of the Golden Horseshoe. DD started to get impatient cause she wanted “more rides, Daddy.” Off we went and what do I spy :sail: , but the Dream Team giving out lanyards, so we make our way over to that area and get one for DD and I :cool1: . She was in heaven again and made me go back so she could thank the CM for the nice “present”.

We went onto Pirates and then grabbed Fastpasses to HM and made our way to Critter Country. We rode Winnie’s ride and then met the bear himself. As we were waiting Tigger came over to where we were and played around for the kids. DD got to meet Winnie, Eyeore & Tigger. By this time, 11:30, our HM FP window opened up so in we went. This place looks great with the holiday decorations. DD didn’t even get scared on the ride section, the stretch room is another story.

This put us at a little after 12, so we sat down and had a picnic.

After we finished up we took the train over to Toontown and walked down to Tomorrowland. Nemo was now a 75 minute wait, so no thank you. We went and watched “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.” Bad idea. DD freaked out when the dog barked in her face, but was okay after daddy protected her. Luckily, she did not have the glasses on when the snake hissed or she would have thrown a complete fit. After that fiasco, we tried to go on Buzz, but the line was too long so we got in line for the rockets. This was DD very first Disney ride with me and she loved it even more this time around. After we got off the rockets, it was closing in on 2:45 so we slowly made our way to the front of the park and found our spot for the parade. Before we got our spot, we took some pics in front of the Christmas tree on Mainstreet that turned out fantastic. :santa: I can’t post them cause they belong to Disney until I can order the CD which will happen after our next trip in two weeks.

3:30 rolls around and it is now time for the parade. Princess Gizelle came through and gave extra attention to DD. Gizelle blew a kiss to my DD and she returned with blowing a kiss to Gizelle. DD was in heaven again. :cloud9: We had a great time watching the parade together and DD needed to go on “more rides, Daddy.” Onto Disney California.

By this time I was exhausted, so I was not going to rush around anymore, but we still had a good time. DD got to have pics taken with Santa and told him that she wanted a toy shopping cart for Christmas. Now the bike becomes her birthday gift. Good thing her bday is in January. :headache: She got to see Stitch who tried to take away her candy cane. Luckily the CM stopped him just in time.

Went over to and rode the Monsters ride which will be down for repairs when we go in a couple of weeks. We made our way over to watch Crush and then just walked around. My DD got to do her very first pin trade with a CM in one of the stores. She traded the Donald/Goofy Dream pin for a Mickey/Stitch pin. Now she wants to trade with me even though I only have the Mickey/Minnie Dream pin since I gave her my Donald/Goofy Dream pin to replace the one that she traded. We have decided to get her a few pins before we go on the next trip so she won’t trade away her Dream pins.

We watched the Beach Blast parade and I decided it was time to go. DD protested a lot, but my feet and legs could not take much more. I could not believe that she still wanted to go on more rides. She was in the stroller for a total of 30 minutes that day. Her little legs were still moving along, but mine could not. This marked the end of our great Daddy and Daughter Date Day at Disneyland.

WOW what a great day you two had!! That is so great to go on a whim for daddy daughter date day.

Sounds like she had a full and filling day...but the question is, did she sleep good that night? haha

which side of the street were you sitting for that 330 parade?? we were right there before they turn in to go night night or a nap for the floats. .. awesome spot for pics!

She was asleep after about 5 minutes on the road. I was asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.

We were sitting on the tunnel side of the road nearest to City Hall.

talk about being on opposite sides of the street for the same parade!!! did you look towards main street after the parade??? SCARY amount of people!! even 15 minutes later it was a scary amount of people. . . it was a gorgeous day though!

I knew what was coming so we hightailed it out to California Disney once the parade passed us. I was in shock at the amount of people that were walking behind the last float.

The weather was perfect that day.
