My dad had a stroke today.
It is not severe as he can recognize us and tries to communicate. His left side is fine and is coordinated. His right side is affected. Mostly the arm and his speech is slurred. The right leg is fine but has a little weakness.
The doctors (and there were many today) say it is too soon for a prognosis, but they are encouraged by some of his tests. He is still not quite all "there" but he does try to communicate, but can't put the words together. The last doctor was the most encouraging by saying that he will improve, but it will be a long process.
Surgery is not warented, so that is good news I guess. It is a small bleed on the basal gangula. Which is "common" for those with high blood pressure, which he did.
He is in the best hospital in the world, the Cleveland Clinic. So he is getting great care.
Tomorrow is another day. And begins a long journey of rehab. He will be in the Nuro ICU for a few more days at least.
Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Debbie
