dad confronts bully on schoolbus

I think Dad showed great restraint in NOT knocking some heads together. Are you kidding me? A condom on the poor girls' head? physical abuse? torment? And the video shows just how terrified this bunch of hoodlums were (NOT) :sad2: I'm sure there were some children on the bus that were very scared but I'll bet they were the ones sitting in the first few rows, not the ones mixed in at the back of the bus. And good, it's a lesson learned about why they shouldn't bully;)

Would I get on a school bus and do this? Probably not. Would I confront the bully at his bus stop, absolutely! And then I'd confront his parents too. Time to stick up for our kids and ourselves and not let these punks get away with this crap:eek: Time to take back our streets, schools, and towns!

I want to know how you would feel if those kids in the front row or any kid who was not involved was your child? Your child has just been bullied and threatened by a grown man-he threatened to 'kill' people. He didn't just say they would be prosecuted-he said he would 'kill' them. You're really ok with your child going through this scene???? Seriously???

People are applauding this?!

This man comes onto the bus threatening to kill everyone on it, not just the kids who bullied his daughter. This is ridiculous.

Furthermore, the bus driver should have radioed for police help as soon as the man came on and yelled at everyone to sit down. My God, I'm an adult and I would have been terrified.

I would be furious if my child was on that bus.

Yes, I can understand why he did it, but it certainly was not right and I can't believe everyone who is painting him a hero. For threatening to kill a bus full of children?!

Amen!!! A grownup does not get to walk on a bus full of minors and use foul language or threaten to kill students. A grownup uses the procedures to bust those brats butts off the bus. A grownup does not do to a whole busload of children exactly what he is mad about happening to his daughter. This guy should be prosecuted for being stupid and threatening a school bus full of minors. If I was that driver, I'd have pressed charges.

The kids were laughing at him. Sometimes the only way to deal with bullies is to bully them back. I do not have any sympathy for those monsters picking on that poor girl. I saw a dad at the end of his rope.

And if my kid were guilty of picking on that girl, her dad's performance would be very mild compared to what I would do.

Liberty Belle, regardless of how you or anyone else feels about this, did you notice how the children were laughing at him? Not taking him seriously? And obviously not at all terrified of him?

Yes, I heard some. But what about those innocent children on the bus?

The innocent kids on the bus were probably applauding and happy that someone finally stood up to the bullies who are probably bullying them as well.

Seriously? You'd threaten to kill your child and more?

My son, who has neurological disabilities, was bullied all last year on the bus. He was pinched, smacked on the head, called all kinds of hurtful, mean names. I know how horrible it is. I went to the principal countless times until something was done.

There were innocent children on that bus. And, even if every single child on the bus bullied that little girl, the dad should not have done it. But we know this isn't true because the dad told his girl to show him which ones were bullying her.

And, everyone's pointing out the kids laughed at him. So it really did a lot of good, didn't it? There's a reason for all children's behavior. Screaming at them and threatening to kill them is not going to help.

Applauding the crazy man who told the bus driver he would kill all the kids on the bus? That's just crazy talk.

When I was in 2nd grade, I was bullied by a group of kids. I reported it, my parents reported it and nothing ever happened. I lived in fear for 2+ YEARS while these kids tortured me and eventually sexually assaulted me (yes really).

So where some see poor innocent minor children being bullied by a grown man, I see mean spirited kids that need a kick in their butts and expulsion from school if that is what it takes.

I agree that the innocent kids on that bus probably are also getting bullied and probably were happy that someone cared.

I'll answer for me. I don't think I would be angry at all. I would feel for the man that he had to go to such lengths to protect his child. I also and so sick of all the anti bullying nonsense. All it does is teach the kids who don't bully not to stick up for themselves or others because they don't want to be a bully themselves. Maybe if the kids weren't so scared to get in trouble themselves they would have stood up for the little girl. I would also ask my kid what has been going on on the bus. When they told me I would then explain that what the animals were doing was so beyond wrong and that that Dad was just so upset that his child was being picked on. The same way I as there Mother would be upset. I would also tell them that I don't believe he was going to actually kill anyone but he was just so upset because his child was hurting. When I was a kid scenes like this did happen and we all survived and we weren't traumatized. We knew we better straighten up.

I say Good for that dad. Kids today are BAD!!!! They have zero respect for adults. The best part is their own parent's condone their behavior. What he said to these kids they deserved. If he came on that bus and was nice about it they would laughed in his face. Maybe he has prevented his daughter from being tormented.

I say Good for that father!!! Good. I applaud him! Maybe if we were more extreme with these kids today we can prevent alot of problems down the road. Maybe even save the lives of kids that are bullied!!!

I can totally understand why the dad lost his cool. However, it doesn't send much of a message or hold much weight when you try to bully kids into not bullying someone else.

They did laugh in his face - even with all the cursing and threatening.

If parents and schools took bullying more seriously, instead of waiting for kids to commit suicide, maybe parents of bullied children wouldn't feel so frustrated and resort to such destructive behavior.

I agree with the above - but he crossed the line when he started threatening to kill people.. I hope his DD is able to recover from the emotional trauma and perhaps the school and the bus drivers won't be so lax in the future..:sad2:

I wish he would not have threatened to kill, BUT I understand how he snapped. His poor daughter is in the hospital! Can you imagine? How horrible and painful for her. She faces so many obstacles in life and now this. I think the father actually showed restraint on not hitting some of the punks who had no fear. Seriously?? They were not scared. They were rude and obnoxious still! Those kids need to be locked up where they can not torment other children anymore. This bullying is completely out of control. How much more are people supposed to take?

Did he go overboard? Maybe he did, but the kids laughing at him as he left the bus indicates that these kids have NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS. Also why didn't the bus driver put a stop to it? Back in the dark ages, this type of behavior was not tolerated on the bus. It is a sad statement on society, when kids are picking on a kid that is handicapped. Obviously these parents are not teaching their children respect for others.

As someone that has a disorder that alters my appearance, I know the pain that a point or a whisper can cause.

One thing I will not tolerate is someone making fun of another because of any difference they may have. If MY kid was one of the ones making fun of his child, the safest place for her would be on that bus. I saw tonight on CNN exactly what they did to that child, and honestly, I would've ripped the doors off that bus. And I probably would have said much worse to those kids. My kid would also be on some news show ( because I am sure any one of them would jump at the chance) apologizing pubicly and then would do some serious volunteer time with diabled children. I was never teased, but I remember kids in school that were, and it still bothers me.

forgive me if someone has already posted this...I watched it and thought...good for the dad.

I may be showing my age...but remember the show "Family Affair" with Brian Keith, uncle Bill. There is an episode where one of the kids is getting bullied and uncle Bill goes to "talk" to the other kids dad and winds up punching him out.

Those were the days, when you could do something like that for good reason and not have the police involved.

A true nutcase would have physically attacked the bully. He didn't hit anyone. A dad stood up for his daughter. Good for him and especially for her!

I agree with all of those statements!:thumbsup2:
