DAC linked through MDE Question

Hi All,
We are going to be in WDW on Aug. 20th and was just checking our reservations when I noticed a new scroll window under My Reservations. After our FastPass+ ressies there is a space for Disability Access Return Time. Last year we got a DAC for our son, which we used in conjunction with our FP+, since he is already in the system, do we still need to go to guest services and link up our magic bands or is that automatically done for us? This DA Return Time window just caught me off guard and I was going to go to the GS window outside the parks to link up our magic bands.

yes you still need to go to GS to get a new DAS card ( or have it linked now) it is good for 60 days.

You will basically be repeating the entire process. Our first trip after making it electronic, we went to GR, we went through the process, they took a new picture AND they had to link everyone's MagicBands. So while before they only wrote a number of guests, now they need the actual MagicBands of everyone on it to scan into the system.

Thanks for the responses. The thing that caught me off guard was the DART window. Does everyone have that, whether they get a DAC or not? And if not, and I did not link up the bands yet, then why is it there?

I wrote this last night, but just found it as a draft - it never posted.
Yes, you will need to go to Guest Relations to renew the DAS.

The short answer is that you need to go to Guest Relations at a park to request DAS. You will need all members of your party and their Magicbands so that your whole group can be linked together as a DAS group. They will take a picture of your son.

To get a DAS Return Time, anyone in your party can go to an attraction to request. The CM will read their Magicband and your son's information will come up on a screen for the CM to verify. The names of the others in your group will also come up and the CM will ask which members should be included in the Return Time.
The Return Time should be loaded into your MDE account at that point.
I don't know why the DAS area is showing up in people's MDE. Some people who have never had DAS have seen it and others who had DAS before have not seen it until their Magicbands were linked.

To use the DAS Return Time, his Magicband needs to be scanned first. The Mickey head will glow blue,alerting the CM to check the picture on the screen and compare with the person presenting the DAS. After that, the rest of your group can scan their Magicbands and will get a green Mickey.
If you have Fastpass and DAS for the same attraction, have someone else scan first.

That screen apears on everyones MDE now. We have not used a DAS yet and it is on mine as well
