Two words: DO IT!!! My previous arsenal included a D2h and D70... and it was "love at first click" with the D300. I shoot a lot of high ISO photos and noise levels are great. ISO 3200 is now an acceptable option for me. The display on the back is lovely. The details are grand! I can only imagine what the D3 will do!

I need to quit hanging out with you guys, you are a bad influence. I promised Trina I would wait until after the first of the year before I bought a D300 now you got me wondering if I wouldn't be better off getting it now...

Jeff

I can relate. A couple of weeks before the D300 was announced I had a conversation with my wife about how even though I didn't have the "latest and greatest" Nikon dSLRs on the market, I was "content" and wasn't looking to make any major photographic purchases anytime soon.... and then they announced the D300 and I read the specs.... and then I saw high ISO samples... and I was "dead man walking".

Yeah, DH wanted to get one as soon as it was available, but funds are questionable. LOL If his cousin buys our D200 off us, we will most likely get it!
