Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I'm looking for feedback and or comment about the D23 Membership. We are thinking about subscribing to the gold membership and was wondering if anyone already a member and can let us know if it is worth the $80+/year membership.

We are hoping that it may enhance our trip planning and over all experience if we know about the history and what's coming up next

Thanks in advance

I'm a D23 charter member, but this year I almost didn't renew. I ended up doing it at the last minute, but I definitely was thinking about the high cost for what you actually get. I really love the magazine and for the past few years the renewal gift has been a nice calendar (one with artwork from theme park attractions that were never created and another with artwork from the animated films.) They host some pretty cool events for members, but most are based out of CA so would only be a benefit for locals. As far as enhancing your trip planning experience...sometimes the magazine will feature the theme parks (not necessarily the US parks), but other times the entire issue may be focused on films, etc. You do get some discounts with the card - normally 15% off at the Disney Store, discounts at H20+, Ghiradelli, etc. - but more discounts for the CA area then the FL area. $80 is a lot for 4 magazines and some little gifts...but somehow I ended up doing it again anyway lol. Not sure if this helped or made the decision harder :upsidedow

I was a charter member as well, but only kept it for the first three years. I kept hoping that they would really make it worth it, but as noted above unless you are in CA it really doesn't have much to offer. While I did enjoy the magazines, it just didn't make sense to continue it.

Thanks for sharing. I was really on the fence because $80 for some magazines is quite high and we live in Canada for will not be able to enjoy the benefits you mentioned.

Thanks for saving me $80.
