😬😬😬 Hopefully not in a Primeval Whirl type of way. The comments earlier about mission space don’t have me hopeful.
Yea, I'm not really sure why it would be compared to mission space which is a motion simulator. Backwards launches aren't bad at all in my experience, but I'm a coaster lover and the bigger, faster, taller the better. Not a fan of mission space orange at all, but I love all the reverse launches I've done.

I have a lot of thoughts!!

First, a lot of incessant updates on stuff we already know.

I love Festival of Fantasy but am kind of jealous at Disneyland’s new parade
Cirque show is exciting but again we spent too much time on it if you ask me.
Target is great. I once forgot to pack pants and this would help with that 😂

Avengers Campus is exciting and I look forward to the idea of the campuses interacting with each other! Love Spider-Man, am confused at what the avengers ride is, and happy they chose black panther for the 3rd ride. I’m also super hyped to meet Ant Man and all the characters they are bringing in.

As for EPCOT they teased figment so much for not actually ever bringing him up!!! That said I am so excited. I have been very worried about this remodel but that imagineer sounded good and honestly I’m seeing where the original park’s vision lines up with what we are getting. It seems to me to be taking the old stuff and making it more modern and easily adaptable. I see how they got play from wonders of life and I think dreamers point sounds just amazing!!!! I think that was my favorite part of the panel. I hate to lose the name Future World but we will probably still call that area that anyway 💁🏻‍♀️. It really just refers to the side of Epcot lol. As for SSE I love it. In my point of you it was always about how the world has been brought together through time as communication developed and part of that for me has always been the storytelling aspect. This doesn’t feel far from the current iteration to me and I gotta say, as a librarian I am hyped. Moana also got me excited. It is the perfect integration of IP into Epcot if you ask me. Educational but character inspired. It also seems super family friendly and honestly gonna help in the summer 😂
I am kinda mad we didn’t get a new country, we should be getting a second maybe even a third country for EPCOTs 50th but maybe I’m being greedy. It’s been too long as it is.
Happy to hear the 50th will be a Disney worldwide celebration but honestly would have been horrified to hear otherwise!
Can’t believe they shoved IP into MDE, classic Chapek. Interested to see how it looks but hate the idea any TAs will lose business, but I honestly don’t think Disney is capable of technology sophisticated enough to do so at this point so not toooooo worried.

Reflections looks better than I expected and I’d actually like to stay there. I am better they got Tianas place and wish they had taken the Pocahontas idea and ran with it more.
Star Wars hotel: amazing but expensive, I tuned out for my own well being and also I’m just sick of Star Wars news at this point. I want new news lol. Still excited for all the new Star Wars stuff though

Joe Rohde working on Lighthouse point might drive me to go on my first Disney Cruise. I think he is perfect for this job knowing that the locals were worried about preserving their culture.

I’m curious what the final verdict will be on the imagination pavilion, as they say on podcast the ride: keep it, plus it up, or burn it down?!

Do we think this is the end of park’s news for awhile or just that they couldn’t fit everything? I hope we don’t have to wait too long for new updates.

Not much news on Paris other than images from hotel New York and avengers land all of which was already known I believe.

It seems to have gone very quiet on the full park WDS revamp which was supposedly the next big parks project. Now seems epcot has jumped ahead?

Is the lake/frozen land/star wars land still happening at all???

Disney village was also supposedly getting an expansion but again it's long gone quiet on that. Weird.

I agree. Reverse launches are not bad and nothing like Mission Space. Also, Its going to be controlled spins just to get you facing a different direction.

I can understand internationals wanting to go target but the question is here are they going to put it in Disney. I don’t see it near Disney springs, it could be down near the crossing where there building the extra Disney college student housing. Would make since but if that is the case I don’t see Disney transport taking you there. Might be a Uber or room delivery thing as a possibility.

I'm not an international guest. I would love to have a Target or similar store accessible by Disney transportation just in case I need something. I am not driving, and I am not experienced or comfortable with Uber/Lyft/Taxis.

If we have to find our own transportation to it, what's the point?

My understanding if the announcement is that it would be NEAR Disney, not in Disney.

Although, let’s be honest...I’d be very happy if it was in Disney and I could use Disney transportation to get there....just saying! ;)

Clearly I’m green as this is the first D23 I’ve ever really deep dived into but I think it’s insane. In a good way. An entire improved and cohesive park with Epcot, resorts including a first one of its kind immersive resort, A WHOLE ISLAND, Avengers campus, new cruise ship, great themed restaurants, a bunch of new attractions, Disney+ about to change the streaming game. And people are saying it’s a disappointment? Who else on earth can release this much entertainment news in one weekend?

..We already knew about the immersive resort..Lighthouse Point..The new cruise ships..The space restaurant..and most of the attractions..The new movies in China and Canada and the sing along in the France pavilion .We did learn that something is happening with Spaceship Earth and Mary Poppins but even with that not much info was given.
Edited to say..I did hear a rumor they are building a Target. 🙂

Even both of those were pretty much already known. Spaceship Earth refurb was known and a Mary Poppins ride was pretty heavily rumored. The only really new thing for WDW I can think of announced this weekend was the building that will host events/fireworks viewing at Epcot. Sure there were more details released for a lot of things, but the general concepts were all already previously announced.
Not necessarily complaining about that though, I loved all the new details released!!

ETA: And the Genie was new.

So apparently the Target is rumored to be located at the western entrance to Walt Disney World at the Flamingo Crossings Town Center opening in 2021.

I guess that’s what we’d have expected. It has no impact on how we visit WDW but I also oddly was hoping it would be perhaps in a location walkable from DS so if you wanted to go you could at least get (near) there via WDW transport. I guess I could take a taxi if I “really” wanted to visit a Target while on my trip though, lol.

In priority order: If my feet, a boat, a monorail or a Disney bus can’t get me there on my Disney trip, I’m not going 🤣 (but I get that others do it differently).

EDIT: I guess I should also add the “Non-air-conditioned flying trapeze boxes of death” to that list too :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
