D23 and crowds

We are going to be in Southern California the week of D23. We are going to the park the Saturday prior and midweek. I am thinking about getting a three day pass and also go on Saturday 7/15. However this is during the middle of the expo. I have heard that D23 causes a peak in crowds. On Saturday there are block outs on many passes, does that compensate for the expo crowds? I know crowds are impossible to predict but how have previous years been? Thanks

If you're going during the expo I would expect crowds to be less because all those people will be at the expo. Nights might see an increase.
