I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally, had a really great time with some quality, fabulous people, that I can honestly say, I’d love hanging out with on any given day in my own home. That stands as an open invitation- any time you are passing through Oregon, just give me a call. Mi casa es su casa, and all that.

Ditto for me, except the Oregon part. And if I ever find myself in Oregon, you'll be notified!

Now back to clothes. I really like my new outfit; as much as 7 likes here new kicks. Wanna see ‘em?? (Glenn, Tim, Marv, and Dan, you can whistle Dixie for a while) Of course you do!!

and that’s because they were. I think she told me that it was right about here that they were saying they could actually FEEL their makeup melting off their faces! Maybe getting stuck in the cooler trunk of the car wasn’t so bad after all?

Yep, only 2 more sleeps! I didn't sleep nearly as well as the night before- maybe DISing until 2:00 had something to do with that.

So glad I got to meet everyone- and yes, putting names with faces was really a highlight. I really wish you could have been there, too, Camille! But I did see a rare photo of you on J's thread earlier. I saw an equally lovely face staring back at me.

Tate did a really good job with that update! It was nice of her/him to do the hard work and let you relax for a while!

I hope you are able to catch your breath at least for a little bit while you are at your sister's. Only two more days until you board that plane!!!

Not Rain Forest Cafe, but Restaurantosaurus - the place in Dinoland which used to sell only burgers and chicken nuggets. I forgot about the Y&Y, I just remembered that you were rather dissappointed with FTB closing and that giving you only the options of burger or pizza... But Y&Y should be a wonderful lunch!!

Tate's a great pal! Amazing what Toys can do at night, when no one's looking!

I did finally get a bunch of time alone, but had to settle for 10:00- 2:00 AM. I am hoping to go and see Arlington cemetary or Mt. Vernon today, then I guess they (my sister and fam) belong to a private club that owns and island in the Patomac (sp.?) River and we'll go for a picnic dinner. Ah, to live the life of the rich and not famous...

Mike and Mikki did make it to Portland safely. Sounds like they will be back and forth from Salem some, and still need to make a final decision about where Bek will go to school. It's a complex situation- one that I can go into later.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... Restaurantosaurus... Gotcha. Ok, it's locked into my long-term memory banks for another option. At this point, I"m pretty much looking forward to my Dim Sum for 2 for lunch with a possibly assault on dessert. We'll see.

Great report from Tate. Love the new outfit I seriously wish we could've stayed. It really really really REALLY sucks that we had to leave when we did. That museum you went to looks to be right up our alley. If only we had continued on to Disney. Then we would've been able to meet up again. Are you ready for Disney?!?! It's the Jenerator!! I wish you could have stayed on with us too- knowing how much you like history, you'd have LOVED the museum! Seeing the Star Spangled Banner that flew over the Fort you saw was really quite sobering.

I am becoming more ready. My wishes are written, but I still need to cut out the other 40 for the other soldiers. I need to glue the tip envelope pictures onto the actual envelopes, finish the back sides of my itinerary pages, and get my luggage tags on. REally, I do feel ready, though. If I were to have to leave today, I'd feel like I wasn't missing anything critical. Today, I'll also take a last look at my packing lists to make sure I have everything.

I think I can now say I have 48 hours left. 48 hours from now I'll be IN THE AIR!!!!

I hope the next two days have some relaxing moments for you...perhaps even some boredom. You could use some!

Glennbo gave you his take on the Meet, but now it’s time for the “rest” of the story. Well, some of the rest of the story, as I really wanted to save the major portion of my telling until I get back from my trip. For what seems like WEEKS now, it’s been a constant battle to find any personal time- time to think, time on the computer, time to just sit and collect my thoughts, time to slow down and just contemplate how close my trip is now, or time to get those last minute plans together.

We've been missing you over here... but this thread has taken on a new life... almost like a Jordan thread. I must say that Maroo has been doing a good job keeping us informed of any trip news and she has been on swirlie watch for a few weeks now. I don't know how much time I will be on over the next few days but I wanted to wish you the best time in Disney! You deserve it after all you have been through the last few weeks, and quite frankly, the last 10 years.

I really like that picture a lot! I think it captured how at ease we all were with each other- like we had been friends already for a very long time.

YES!! She did! She and her hubby, Kent, showed up right at 7:30 and we really enjoyed their company a lot!! She is just as beautiful in person as in every picture I see of her on the boards.

I miss everyone terribly too! It will be nice to get settled into a real routine over the next month and be back on more regularly! Meantime, it's GREAT to see lots of folks here hanging out, and playing and "doing" the thang.

It's been a long 10 years... but rewarding in so many ways. If the Lord ever takes us back out somewhere I know we'll grow in new and different ways.

Oregon is a great vacation destination! August is your best weather bet- outside of then, you'll have to join us for our perpetual rainfest.

WE DID!! It went without any major hitches. I say major because there were at least 2 minor glitches- that worked out well in the end.

They aren't that bad for walking around town, but given all day, I think they may not be good. Unless I take an extra pair and stash them in a locker. But for every locker, that's one less Disney snack.... Priorities you know.

Tropical Update:

Earl is still a Cat 4 Hurricane - so far he has missed a lot of the land masses and done minimal damage, from what I understand...which is nice of him. I still wish he would just go out and bother the and leave the US alone.

It looks like he will be out in the ocean as we are flying around on Thursday, which is a good place for him!

As long as a storm is close by, but not hitting us (like Earl), it will make our weather GREAT because it is a little breezy and the moisture is pulled into the storm (at least that is the way it is here...I assume it is the same in FL.)

Fiona was finally named yesterday. So far she is going to be a minimal storm and 5 days out they still have her out to sea...a storm!

However, they do show her stalling out there and that could mean she may turn to go somewhere - who knows.

Regardless - I am not worried at all about the storms for our trip anymore - things look good for now and we are now 2 sleeps away!!!

Well, I"ve done gone and lost my paraphenalia- the most important piece of Disney-touring equipment out there... and I've lost it.

My CAMERA was either picked up by someone honest, or dishonest. 12 hours oughtta do the trick in revealing what type of human being found it.

The scene of the atrocity?? Mt. Vernon.

The time of the mishap?? About 2:00 PM, Aug. 31st, 2010.

Why? Who the heck ever knows how these things happen. It was hot, and I had to pee. And that's the last I saw of it. Someone will end up with a really poor POC, and a few pix of some spinning wheels. Why? Because they don't allow photos IN the house.

The good news?? I had uploaded EVERYTHING from our MEET onwards onto Photobucket last night, and the Germany and houseboat trip onto the laptop before I left for DC.

The bad news? I need to go to Best Buy tonight and pick up another POC for the trip. I"m out at least $100 when it's all said and done.

DH's last words to me at the Nashville Airport?? "Be careful with the checking account, please!"

Am I doing well? That is debatable. Ball of Wax put everything into proper perspective on the way home (where I realized my debaucle) by saying that, "At least you haven't lost a limb." Yeah, ok, I feel so much better now.
