Have a wonderful day at the salon tomorrow! I can't wait to see the red hair! I had my hair done last week - I was thinking about you as I sat in the chair wondering what color to go for - but I ended up just getting some highlights - however I did cut quite a few inches off - very liberating!

I'm so excited to finally get to meet you!! We are all going to have such a great time!

I think a couple inches are coming off my mop too, but I am more excited about the coloring. Should be a fun change.

Well, in a manner of speaking, anyway. but those warnings should be taken VERY seriously! If I had been a child, I would have been d.e.a.d.

We are thrilled- I cannot deny that a small, well, okay, rather large, happy dance (squeal included) was done at the post office.

I am really hoping he does well tomorrow. It'd sure be nice if he could pass and start collecting his $300 a month. If he does pass tomorrow, he and the others who also pass will be sworn in at the Sept. 18th football game half time. In front of 15,000 people- they really take their ROTC seriously here- he is only one of 18 guys (and 1 gal) who got a 4 year full ride- 5 for him because Engineering is a 5 year program.

I'm sure that you will see at least some photos of the Meet on everyone who has a thread going's PTRs or TRs. But, you'll have to wait for my take on it until I get back. I have about a dozen installments already stored up and ready (well, not technically ready, but in my mind) for stuff I've done already BEFORE I even get to Disney!!!! You all told me "door to door"- so that's what it'll be!

The rest has been mom's home cooking- which beats fast food ANY DAY!!!

By the way, I had my first beer in over 20 years on the boat. Beer is just as bad as I remembered it. Which wasn't a lot since I always drank it after about 4 screwdrivers- no one remembers much after that. I'm sticking with wine. Tastes better.

That's for sure!! My sister was in charge of last night's dinner on the boat... marianated flank steak on the grill, hot German potato salad, cole slaw, corn on the cob, Lordy, it was guuuud stuff!!

DRANK!! Those shenanigans were in college. I have been reformed- and am alive to tell about it. Getting married and having children was a pretty good wake up call.

Vodka is good mixed with just about anything- straight is the makings of an ulcer.

Tomorrow- Get hair dyed RED(ish), take son to dentist, hopefully celebrate a full 5 year ride for Andrew

Saturday- re-pack all of our worldly belongings- go to Nashville for a BBQ cookoff thingy with country music- free tickets compliments of my DBIL

Sunday- fly to DC, meet a bunch of really great folks and eat a lot

Monday- Wednesday- ????? Ball of Wax (my sister) and my aunt have various things planned

Thursday- finally some time to myself and quiet- check into POP 3 days solo,

5th- LeeAnn shows up-

13th- fly to Portland and start a whole new life

We just got back from the houseboat, and picked up the mail....



ANDREW IS QUALIFIED by the DODMERB (Dept. of Defense Med. Examiners Reivew Board) for the ROTC Program. Now all he has to do is pass his PT test and can start collecting his stipend and get "contracted"!!!


WOOT!!!

If you'll recall earlier, we were a bit worried about this because of his past history of childhood asthma. Apparently, being overseas and not really ever seeing a doctor, was ON HIS SIDE!!! His test is IN THE MORNING- if he passes a 2 mile run in 15 minutes, many push-ups, and many more sit ups, then it's in the bag. 6:20 AM is the test!

YIPEE!!! It's so good when money comes in for college!!! I know he'll do fine!

What GREAT news!!! I hope he passes the test!! You have so much going on right now...how are YOU doing? Right now you are in celebration/vacation mode...but what about the "start a whole new life" thing? Embracing it with a grin? Or slightly nervous? I know in certain ways I'd be a wreck - it can be a stressful thing!
