D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

When she finally caught up with us, she was laughing so hard it took 10 minutes for her to spit out the story. I think I laughed so hard I peed my pants a little. :rotfl:
I don't think I woulda said that!!! :rolleyes1 Funny story, though. :rotfl2:

I was laughing at that too.. Here are some swirlies to look out for!!!!!

raspberry%20swirlies%20013.jpg
My kind of swirlies!! :goodvibes

Our TV went out the door a couple of days ago, and my kids have creatively come up with some amazing ways to entertain themselves. Of course, I LOVE IT, and it gets me in the mood for my upcoming La Nouba experience.

Who needs a TV, anyway??
Great pics. They make some super looking clowns; very cute!
That was yesterday. Today they are up at our street corner selling all my canning jars and plants. So far, they've made about $10 each for souvies in Germany!! Ah, the making of little capitalists.

Today it is somewhere over 100, and they are such little troopers to sit out there!! Tomorrow is forecast to 109!!
I think I would choose "today" to sit outside and sell over "tomorrow." 109 degrees....:scared1:
I just can't risk blisters- no matter how dorkish I look. Which is most of the time anyway, since I may wear a butt pack too.
Arm flab......butt pack........what's next??? :sad2:

Actually here in Germany it is kind of common when you are at big events where of course the line at the ladies' room is enormous and the line for the men's room non-existent that some ladies just go into the men's room. I don't do that, but it is kind of halfway socially acceptable.
Yeah, uh huh.......

I hope it stays that way! :goodvibes Would be perfect weather for touring a city!

Me too!! And no rain would be nice, since it's a lot of walking.

Ok, for some reason or another I thought you would already be offline from the 10th... So, I still have some time. I don't mind wether you are offline while you are in Nuremberg - I will see you in real life there!! :yay:

No, I have until the 13th, but of course, from now until we leave in a week, it's going to be dicey- LOTS of people are coming and going to look at stuff.

I have heard that the beerhall like place (I guess you mean the micro brewery?) does not do very good food, more snacks and such. I was thinking a beergarden would be great for our dinner together. But I will send you a list of options!

OK, let's do that1 A biergarten for dinner together. :thumbsup2 Then you can point us to another place with traditional fare as well. ;)

September 1 will be my first day at the new job! I am really looking forward to it! And then on September 6 will be the first day I am hearing a case! :scared1: But inbetween I will spend the weekend hiking in the Alps with some friends... That should help to calm my nerves! :goodvibes

Nice starting date!! And already a court case lined up!! :thumbsup2 I know you'll do great! I think an Alps trip is the perfect antidote for nervousness!

Love the clowing around pictures. I can't believe I had to go so far back for that, I was just on your ptr last night, didn't leave a comment, but that wasn't there when I got on, and now there are so many posts afterward, phew.

I'm getting so excited for you, :cool1:you are so close to fun in Germany, :banana:moving to the states, and of course my personal favorite, :cheer2:the trip to WDW :) I can't wait to read all about it.

What cute little clowns you have!!

I'm ignoring all of this weather talk....sigh. The only reason I get concerned about the weather is because of the great deluge in May '09 Jen & I had. I blame the ankle high water in Epcot for the start of my blisters, that with the combination of squishing my feet around in crocs was the beginning of the end.

In Sept. '08, it rained just a few times and they were such quick showers. Don't worry about it. Everything will be fine.

Ellen, I just simply won't do. But the AA I'd do, rain or shine- yes, Brook , we are twin history goobers. B&B I did last time with my little girl- snooooooooooooooooe factor 10. Never have done LMermaid though, is it covered??

We loved B&B! Even Joe! Never have done Little Mermaid though...perhaps this trip.

Heidi is the GAG! You might think that that's a BAD title, but it's actually a very good one- it stands for GREAT ADVICE GURU!!! (Why am I having second thoughts on this idea??)

SHE IS THE GAG! Seriously. She recommended we do a cab in December from DHS to our "date night" meal at CG instead of dealing with the buses - and this was a very good move. She rules!

Nice!!! That would a UNIQUE DISMeet for sure!! Let's all get together and do our laundry. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2: I think we could be pretty creative with those pictures!

Love the clown pics! Your kiddos are very creative. :thumbsup2 And woot to them for making some spending money!! I cannot imagine running in the weather you are having, I though 90s with high humidity was bad enough. :faint:

I may not have a choice but to do tennies at least some of the time. I can't get new sandals until I get back home, and that may not be enough time to break them in. I just can't risk blisters- no matter how dorkish I look. Which is most of the time anyway, since I may wear a butt pack too.

Oh, no worries! You are in Disney! Most anything fashion wise is allowed. Note I said "Most anything" I've seen some INTERESTING pics! (and I'm sure you have as well!) I never, ever wear my LIME GREEN baggalini outside of Disney. It's too bright. But in Disney, I'm all about that baby!!

Here things are progressing as well. I just booked the movers! :scared1: They will come and pick up my things here in Berlin on August 24! :scared1::scared1: But I will get the boxes on August 16 so I can start packing before I come to Nuremberg! I am actually quite glad that the Nuremberg visit will only be a visit without any work related to moving and such! :goodvibes

Magdalene - I had noticed you were moving, but didn't realize you had a new job too! Are you looking forward to being back in Nuremberg? I wish you the best with the move and the new job!!!

Thanks for the good wishes! :goodvibes I think I ought to do a personal update on my PTR... I will post something about the new job there. :goodvibes

Yeah, uh huh.......

I think the guys in the Jr. Locker room did the "other" kind of swirlies on a fairly regular basis. These are a kind I can live with.

I had them sitting up there (totally their idea!) with some plants, but the heat did some SERIOUS damage to them. They WON'T be going out tomorrow!

It just keeps getting more and more insane.

It's moving faster than I can keep up. It took me all day to get to Magdalene's post, and then I still didn't get enough time to comment. :scared1: My time on the net is drastically reduced these days- I promise I'm NOT ignoring you all!!! :guilty:

It's going to be quite a string of fun stuff all in a row! Good storying comin' up!

Love the kiddos in the clown makeup, that is too cute. :goodvibes

It was fun to have them be so creative together!

I remember that report! It was quite a wet time you two had! You know. I'm really not sure how my crocs are going to work out. When I was wearing them around the US when I was back in June, my toenails kept ramming in the front of them. I"m really afraid I bought the wrong size now. and I"m really not sure they are going to work for being on ALL day- in perhaps wet conditions.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, this is turning into shoe talk. It must stop!! :lmao: Slippery slopes, Ladies and Gents.

Great clown makeup! Maybe your kids can learn these clown acts from "The Circus". They start about 2:30 into this clip.

OK, will have to check that out right now...

We loved B&B! Even Joe! Never have done Little Mermaid though...perhaps this trip.

So who's done it?? How do the two shows compare??

SHE IS THE GAG! Seriously. She recommended we do a cab in December from DHS to our "date night" meal at CG instead of dealing with the buses - and this was a very good move. She rules!

She's the G.A.G, I"m the Gag-ger.

No one really matches her savvy-ness in tickets, packages, strategies, etc... :worship:

:rotfl2: I think we could be pretty creative with those pictures!

I have no doubts whatsoever. But you have better photo equipment. Mine is a teensy weensy little jobbie, that photograph a barn door if it had to.

They have goals of either A) spending it ALL in Germany (their tourism dept. and economists are going to love us!) or B) buy a dog when we get back to the States. I think the "fatherly powers that be" will be encouraging materialism in this case. ;)

THere is NO WAY I can run in this- today was supposed to be a run day, but it is STILL WAY over 90 out there at 8:30 PM. Now it will be too dark soon. Tomorrow is going to be worse. UGH!!! :headache:

JOrdan seems to find THE most hilarious garb! I know someday, I"m going to end up on someone's TR. Last year it was tennies with a skirt AND a butt pack. You'd DIE if you saw the pix of me on the caroussel!! :rotfl2: And NO, I"m NOT going to post them.

Thanks for the good wishes! :goodvibes I think I ought to do a personal update on my PTR... I will post something about the new job there. :goodvibes

Yes, you should!! There's always such great camraderie and support around here!

I know Crocs work for others but for me, my feet just slip around in them way too much and that caused my blisters. I'm doing sneakers and teva mush flip flops this time around. :thumbsup2

I think I will bring them and try them out; if things go south, I'll switch out to the tennies or the new whatevers. Shoes are something I don't obssess over or even pay much thought to. Accessories on the other hand....:rolleyes1

Don't worry, I know how busy you are at the moment (and me continuing to post on your thread doesn't help either... :rolleyes1;))

Yes, I am all for A)!! The German economy is very much on a rebound at the moment (nobody knows why...) and this might just the stimulation it needs to take off for real! :lmao:

BUT this reminds me: I was meaning to tell you anyway that the toy museum has a shop with neat stuff. One thing I loved as a kid was little games in match boxes. I looked at their website and I found this: http://www.museen.nuernberg.de/spielzeugmuseum/museumsladen/sonstiges.html The wooden tower is actually a box! It costs 5 Euros and looks just like one of the many city wall towers in Nuremberg. Might that not be something for your daughter who collects boxes?

You know. No matter how much you do before hand (ie. our move, and your trip) you still have LOTS to do right up until leaving- it's just unavoidable no matter how much effort goes into trying wrap it up early!

Sorry, it's so frantic right now for you!! I'd be worried about a cat peeing too; I'd never hear the end of it from my parents!

I may not have a choice but to do tennies at least some of the time. I can't get new sandals until I get back home, and that may not be enough time to break them in. I just can't risk blisters- no matter how dorkish I look. Which is most of the time anyway, since I may wear a butt pack too.

Tennies, in that heat, b/c my feet swell (nice huh) would actually be worse for me with socks. Not to mention I only wear them to the gym so don't find them comfy at all. They are hot and bulky! I hear you about not risking blisters.

The clowns are adorable!!!!!!!!!

What are you doing with your current dog?

I absolutely love these pics -- just too cute and a great way to get mom ready for her trip. My goodness...it is hot there! I hope you get a cooling off period soon (it's back up to the 90's for us tomorrow; not sure about the humidity)

One piano OUT THE DOOR!!! A real bargain at $80!!

Lucky ducks. Good thing we're feeling generous tonight. :lmao:

$80 for a piano - wow, someone got a steal!

Well, you had to get rid of your tv, and piano, but I'm glad to see you've at least kept the essentials of everyday life, i.e. face paint :lmao: Adorable pictures!

Thanks for the curry recipe, I think I'll try it.... as soon as it drops below 95 degrees!

Responses coming up in the AM. Good night all! :goodvibes
