D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

So today it appears I will be vying with you for the most posts on this thread! :lmao:

:worship::worship::worship::worship: A rainbow of pretty colors would be ever so lovely!!! :worship::worship::worship: 60 would be great, if you don't think you'll get arrested!

No problem! I will get as many as I can without acquiring a set of pretty silver bracelets.

So glad Elizabeth is okay!

:rotfl2: yes, you're a posting maniac tonight!! Good for you!

Tim just offered 20, and I'll get him my address tomorrow, if you could come oup with 20, and one other person gets me 20, they too can special honorable mention in my Trip Report! :lmao:

Gosh. That one was much more difficult! Here's my answer:

Maroo's Third Tenant in Touring:
I promise not to forsake the group TOO quickly if I get bored with the WS (but a girl has to have SOME hot tub time! ) But I also promise to capture some alone time on this trip - as I know even the best of friends need a break from each other at some point.

I love that sign!! Where did you get the green Mickey heads? I gotta have one of these next time I'm in Disney to speak out to all those other DISers out there. Sadly, I've never decorated our window so nothing to show off :p I love the idea of clipping off your wishes as they are granted!

That is fantastic news about Elizabeth!!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you are well on your way with the Mickey Heads...I must have thrown mine, or put them away REALLY REALLY well.

Great news about Elizabeth! What a scary situation that must have been for everyone and I am glad that her mother (or father?) finally got a good nights sleep. I hope she will also be able to feel rested soon!

Liessa Tracy and I have graduated to phone calls and she discovered I have an ENGLISH accent !!!!:rotfl2:She said she liked it !!!Hope she wasn't just humoring me :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Rosie has the best accent!! I can't believe it took me by surprise...especially since I know she grew up in England!!:rotfl: It's really very lovely. I'll make her talk the whole time on our 7+ hour road trip to Bethesda - it will keep me entertained!! :rotfl2:

Silly Rosie! You have a great accent!! One of the best ever!!! :worship:

She really does!! Kind of melodic!:goodvibes

Mornin' Rosie! Isn't that cool you and Tracy are calling- and better yet, planning for our Meet!!?? :dance3: I can't wait to hear your accent- I always wondered if you still had one!!

Hey, can you guys be lifting up my Dad?? He was hanging a flourescent light last night with my son, Andrew last night, and the cover slipped out of his hand, and sliced his wrist bad enough that he nicked an artery and completely severed a tendon (the one that flexes the thumb up). They could not do the surgery in Bowling Green, so...

Liesa - I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's hand! But I'm so glad your mom and son were there to help him. That is so scary!

You will love Rosie's accent!!

Thanks so much, guys! It's been a really, really bad day. A really important load of books that someone paid over $1,000 for was sent out my door tonight, but ONE BOX IS MISSING!!!! Like GONE!! We can't find it anywhere!! :scared1:

Ugh - did you find the box yet?

Okay gotta share the GREAT News !!Judy got a new job, more money, Holidays OFF etcetc !! Small company, which is what she likes !!!I want her to have INTERNATIONAL wellwishes and Congrats and couldn't think of a better thread for that than right here !!Okay now I will catch up!!!!!

:woohoo: :yay:Congrats to Judy!! It's great that she found a job she likes - especially in these hard times!

What would a military camp be without the various signs and insignias posted around on the tents and other equipment? How would one find their way around without clear information about who or what is inside those makeshift structures on a battlefield?

What a great poster!! I love your ideas. I'll go to my Home Depot and see if we have any paint chips.

Just a couple of housekeeping items:

But, with all the damage, he found no indication of infection and felt that all the breaks were in alignment, so neither surgery nor hospitalization were necessary!

Now, I also spent the day working on our own newsletter that goes out once a quarter (if I have my act together). Some of you have expressed interest in knowing more about what we do here, so if you're interested just PM me, and I can e-mail it on.

Drive by post really quick-

Dad sliced not one, not two, but 3 Tendons!!!

Surgery is Friday in Louisville!

I'm so glad Elizabeth is in good shape!

I'd love to see the newsletter!

Can't believe your Dad sliced 3 tendons!! :scared1: I'll be praying for a successful surgery!

Please do let us know!! And do we get a pic of Mark all scruffy?

Okay...not a great picture, but here is scruffy. It's been a week, but still very little hair (just like his chest!)--and it is gray so it doesn't show up very well:

Your next question involves Soldier #2- (but even Soldier #2 is going to have to go back and find the answer!), and it requires a multi-faceted answer:

What was Soldier #2's Third Tenet of Touring? And if she breaks it, what would be her excuse??

Funny, skinny little thing that you are, bulemic is just not a thought I'd have ever had. Brushing teeth gagging or not. For me it's the brushing of the tounge that does me in...not the teeth.

I digress

Solider #2
promises not to forsake the group TOO quickly if I get bored with the WS but I also promise to capture some alone time on this trip (her excuse being even the best of friends need a break from each other at some point.)

I  the idea of a wishing wreath!

Back to answer the question: Soldier #2 - third tenet of touring: She promises not to forsake the group too quickly if she gets bored with the WS, but she might break it for some hot tub time, or alone time as even the best of friends need a break from each other at some point.

So glad to hear Elizabeth is doing well!

How is your dad's hand doing? My DH had a tendon cut many years ago, and it wasn't repaired correctly the first time, so he had to go back in for surgery a year or so later. He still has ocasional pain between his thumb and forefinger, but it's mostly better and functions normally! :thumbsup2

I'm sad that I missed the first question of the new game, especially since it's one of the things we have in common!

For question #2: maroo promises to not forsake the group too quickly when she gets bored with WS, unless she needs hot tub time or alone time, as even the best of friends need a break sometimes.

Thanks for the update on Elizabeth....that is fantastic news!

I was pleased myself! I hope she can stay off the furniture for a while.

Gosh. That one was much more difficult! Here's my answer:

OK, got it, Jen!

Cynthia did the designing, and I just printed them off on paper I already had. I think they turned out pretty nifty! :thumbsup2 Snow White can have her wishing well, we get our wishing wreath. I hope every one is granted- PLEASE Fairy Godmother! :worship:

That is fantastic news about Elizabeth!!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you are well on your way with the Mickey Heads...I must have thrown mine, or put them away REALLY REALLY well.

I'm happy they finally convinced the insurance company to let them be seen somewhere else!

The way we are throwing things away, I know exactly why yours would have been tossed too. You simply can't move everything!!!

Great news about Elizabeth! What a scary situation that must have been for everyone and I am glad that her mother (or father?) finally got a good nights sleep. I hope she will also be able to feel rested soon!

It was her mom who flew with her. Dad and the other 2 kids stayed home. Hopefully, they can have a rest from the accidents- recently they've experienced 2 apt. fires; not bad, but still scary in a 9 story apt. where the fire dept. is ZERO! :scared1:

I can't wait to hear it- and Magdalene's German accent. Who knows maybe she doesn't even have one- but it sure sounds like her dad does. ;) Rosie, you're already charming enough, but throw in a British accent- WOW!! Fun!

Liesa - I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's hand! But I'm so glad your mom and son were there to help him. That is so scary!

Tomorrow morning he goes in.... I"ll have more news hopefully, tonight my time. I'll let you know.

Ugh - did you find the box yet?
Still no sign of it.

What a great poster!! I love your ideas. I'll go to my Home Depot and see if we have any paint chips.

That'd be wonderful!!! I can't wait to sit up late at my sister's house, and take an hour to write all my wishes out on mine. So fun!! I'll have to take pictures of it, for my first chapter of my TR. ;)

I'd love to see the newsletter!

OK, then just shoot me a PM with your e-mail address, and I'll attach it. Virus free, I promise. :goodvibes

LOVE IT!! HI, Mark! :surfweb: My guy has gotten hairier over the years. I think he needs his first MAN-icure when we get back!

Funny, skinny little thing that you are, bulemic is just not a thought I'd have ever had. Brushing teeth gagging or not. For me it's the brushing of the tounge that does me in...not the teeth.

Solider #2...

I  the idea of a wishing wreath!

I can't even begin to go there!! :scared1: Really, I think it's the strong taste of the mint.... I should switch out to orange or something. :confused3

Got your guess.

:rolleyes1....when you wish upon the wishing wreath.... :rolleyes1

Back to answer the question:

Got it.

I did our window and door last year for the first time. The door thing had cut out Mickey heads so that people could write notes. It was fun to do. I made clings for the windows

I ADORE your idea of the Mouse heads on ribbon for notes!!! Sophia!! Seriously, can I use that??!!!

However, this does mean I will need about 15 or so more paint chips. Anyone want to run to HD for me- Jen, Tim... you're excused since you're already helping me out here. ;)

Absolutely.....

I can even cut them out for you. I used a Cricut since I scrapbook. You tell me what colors and PM me how you want me to get them to you. I can do them any time. :goodvibes

I've got red, black, white and yellow ribbon too if you'd like me to string them for you. Happy to.

Well, we have spoken to each other on the phone a few times... :rolleyes1 ;) Sounds like you don't really remember much about my accent... :lmao:

I used to have a very nice British accent, but am not sure how much of that I still have. :confused3 I am quite proud that I don't have much of a German accent. Often people can hear that something isn't quite right and the most common question I get is wether I am from South Africa. :confused3

But I guess you will have plenty of occassion to hear German accents - and my father definitely has an interesting accent. He has a weired tendency to mispronounce words. He used to say the word "daughters" with the German "au" which sounds like "ow" in English as in "wow". :rolleyes1

Then you've got my dream toll!!! I'd love one of those!! Someday...

I'd really, really, really, really appreciate it! Any bright and fun POP-y sort of colors would be great!! :goodvibes I can let you know my parents' address in a bit by PM! You're WONDERFUL!! THis is so much better than a notepad!! Now, how did you put it on the door? Need to go back and look more closely!

That's what I'm saying! You don't have one, so I didn't even notice!! I do imagine though, that Katharina's is more noticable.

Actually, I did notice your hint (very slight!) of a British accent. It's the same one they have here- depending on which English Center they study at.

WE have a few S. African friends here, and it's very distinguishable from British and even Aussie.

I think we'll all get a kick out of your dad- he sounds like a fun guy!! And yes, I think it will be nice for Mike to have another guy there. :thumbsup2
