D-23 Discount for DVC Members

I remember somewhere that DVC members received a discount on D-23 membership. If so, does it only apply to the members or would it also apply if we purchased for a family member who is not DVC member?

I don't know about the family member thing, but the DVC site should be able to clear that up. It is, however, only for NEW memberships, not renewals.

It is the first Disney sponsored fan club..they have amazing access to things and is well worth it IMO. Beautiful quarterly magazine with a free gift, lots of extra goodies and the events are great. So far I've been to the first Expo, Destination D: Disneyland, the Disneyland Scavenger Hunt and tickets in hand for the Expo this August.

For those who frequent DL, I am sure its well worth it. But for those here in the east who usually go to WDW, not so much IMO. There are so few D23 functions at WDW, that basically we are just paying 80 buck for some shiny quarterly magazines.

It seems like they are really working on that..several things in the east lately, plus Destination D and Scavenger Hunt in WDW..
It's quite a little hike for me to get to DLR, but I make the effort for things like the Expo..too far away for all the movie showings, studio tours, etc. You can join without the magazine for cheaper also.

There is also a "silver" membership that is only $35 (I think?)
DH got me one for our anniversary....he didn't think I needed all of the magazines and that was the only difference he could find between the silver and gold memberships
