Hi there :) We will be staying at Cypress Pointe in October. We were just at the parks for a quick day trip this Saturday (3/26) and while we had fun, I've come to realize that we don't like going to the parks unless we have a convenient place to return to during the middle of the day to relax/nap/freshen up especially with a 3 year old - since we usually stay onsite (and no the car doesn't cut it). I was wondering how easy or not it was to go to the parks and return to your room at Cypress Pointe from each of the four parks. I've heard it is close to Downtown Disney which is a plus because I want to explore that area more on our next trip (plus I'm dying to try Earl of Sandwhich once or twice :teeth: ). If anyone has any views on the ease and location of CP to the parks I would very much like to hear about it. Thanks in advance!

You need a car to get back and forth to the parks easily.

that say - Cypress Points is very, very close to DD. probably the closest non-DD hotel in the DD area.

It also depends if you use WDW backroads - or the I4.

I like backroads - so I would put Epcot/Studios at around 15 minutes, 30 minutes for AK, and 45 minutes for MK (remember you have to use the car tram then take a monrail or ferry to the MK).

Thanks Spiceycat, yes we would have a car and that time you mentioned is still better than not having a place to go back to at all :). We would most likely take I-4 if that was the quickest route. Thanks again!

We have stayed at CP several times and donot get back onto I4 to get to the parks. We usually go either through the Downtown Disney area (which can get congested) or go further up 535(left out of CP onto 535) , past Vistana to the next light and go RIGHT--World Center Drive is the name of the road I believe. This road leads to all spots Disney (it's the road the Nickelodean hotel and Marriott World Center hotel is on).

As spcieycat said, it's a personal preference on if you like highways or the back roads. But having stayed at some of the All Stars, I would say the drive can be shorter or longer depending on exactly which park you are going to. So it probably all evens out in the wash.

535 is a great road because there are tons of restaurants and if you go up 535 as stated above, you go under I-4 and turn LEFT at the next light (Vineland) to get to the outlet mall--which has a Disney outlet in it!!! YIPPEE!!!! If you turn right onto 535 about a mile down the road is a fairly new Winn Dixie grocery store.

Thanks Belle, I'll have to print this out to remember those directions. :)

Hi Heather,

We just stayed at Cypress Pointe this week (writing this from Miami). We spent a day at MK and went back to Cypress Pointe for a rest. I would say it took about 20mins from the parking lot to get back to the hotel, and it was well worth it! We LOVED Cypress Pointe!! It has only been a couple days, and I wish we were back. Dreading going back to snow next week! I plan to post a full review when I get back home...

Sounds awesome! I will eagerly await your report :) Quick question that maybe can be addressed in your report or by someone else, does CP have a snack bar by the pool or general store type place and what kind of items do they serve/sell?

Thanks in advance!

Heather,

There is a general store by the pool. They sell lots of items, including beer and sundry items. They also make pizza right there. We didn't try it though. The games room is also by the pool and jacuzzi area. Winn Dixie is not far away either, as well as a Walgreens. I liked the location of CP as it was close to Disney and a lot of amenities, but it wasn't overly busy like International Drive or I-4. Let me know if you have more questions...

where is cp located and address? where is it in proximity to windsor palms i am also looking at this.

Thanks Lisa! Swincha, I'm not sure exactly where located, but it is only supposed to be a mile from Downtown Disney :)

It's really not close to Windsor Palms at all. WP is over by AK, and Cypress Pointe is just around the corner from Downtown Disney and Crossroads, if you're familiar with that.
