Hi--

Just returned last week from a 9 night stay at Cypress Pointe. We were very pleased with our stay here. No problems checking in, got first floor as I requested, and we were near the pool. My cousin's 8 year old daughter just loved the Volcano pool. We were in the parks a lot and did not explore the resort except for the pool. Restaurants, Eckerd's, and Winn-Dixie were SO convienent! My only complaint--I slept in the second, small bedroom. There was a boarded up door to the breezeway in this bedroom and it was extremely noisy! Sounded like people were in the room with you! However, after the first night I was so tired the noise did not disturb my sleep. The extra room and the washer/dryer were great! I booked through HotelKingdom and had no problems. If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to help. The Disboards are just great! I would have had no idea this place existed without this board. THANKS!

I thought this was a timeshare. Do they require you to take a tour of some sort?

I am very interested in this resort if you dont have to take a tour.

thanks, poohangel:)

We just returned today from cypress pointe and no you don't have to take a tour. They did call our villa and invite us to take the tour but we told them that we were not interested and they did not bother us again. We also booked through hotelkingdom.com We loved the resort!

If you book a trip through Hotelkingdom.com you do not have to do the timeshare thing. When I checked in, I was sent to another desk to get welcome packet. Very nice guy asked me enough questions to screen me out of timeshare tour. We did not fit the profile. Me and my cousin traveling with her daughter. Never even asked me if I was interested!

I was looking into this place too. I know they have a charge per day for a maid, but I was wondering if there was a charge at the end of the stay for cleaning? Thanks!

There is no charge for cleaning at the end of your stay. The price I was charged through Hotelkingdom.com was the price, period. No hidden fees. We did not miss the maid service and actually liked not having anyone "visit" while we were out.

Which building were you in? I think 3 of the 8 buildings have been remodeled and 3 more will be done between Sept 04- Mar 05 but I'm not sure much can be done to elimate noise problems. I've stayed at the CPGVs 3 times and really enjoyed it but I'm considering CP resort to save $20 per night and hope I'm not making a bad decision. Did it seem like the "boarded up door" setup was particular to that unit? Thanks for posting the info on your stay!

We stayed in building 5--unit 5101-- the end of the building nearest the pool. Did not look around, but the unit across from us also had the boarded up door. Do not know if our unit had been remodeled. Kitchen appliances did look to be in real good shape. We are extremely spoiled by staying at beach houses and never do motels anymore. The noise level is probably about the same as a motel, I just wasn't used to it. I would advise saving the money. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old part of the resort. We loved staying there!

I had just posted a topic pertaining to the maid fee and then saw this thread. Could you tell me what the difference is in the CPGV and just Cypress Point? Also do we need to bring towels since we will not have maid service? Any other tips on what to bring. We have always stayed in a hotel and I am not sure as to what to bring.
Thanks in Advance!

BRIANSMOM:

Check out this thread for links to compare CPR to CPGV, site map and floor plans, and pictures online (by me:D ).

Also, buildings 1 - 3 have been refurbished. Building 5 would be a non-renovated unit. We were in building 7 and had no issue with a boarded up door. We found our unit to be much quiter than most hotel rooms.

Briansmom--

Towels are provided--you will have to wash during the week. Kitchen towel is also provided. Also--1 roll of toilet paper per bath, 1 roll of paper towel, a few trashbags, a small container of dishwashing detergent, pack or two of coffee, 1 running of dishwasher, small box of tide, and some small toiletry items. We took all our coffee stuff--don't forget filters, bath soap, detergent, and some extra toilet paper. Don't stress about it. Eckerd's and Winn-Dixie both are just right there and you can get whatever you want. When are you going? Have a great trip!

Thank you both so much. I am sooooo excited about staying here, after reading all the good reviews. Honestly had I not ran across this site, we probably would be staying at just a hotel, nothing special. I can't wait for my son and his friend to see the pool area. I hope that it is as great as everything I have read says it is. We are going July 24-29, 2004. We won't park hop because Magic Kingdom is our favorite. We do a road trip everyother year and this is the year instead of flying, so we are planning on doing Universal too, Kennedy Space Center and the Speedway at Daytona. We have done this before and LOVED it. Last time we went to Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. I would love to go to a different beach for a day, any suggestions? I will make a list of the few extras we may need that you suggested. You have been a great help!

Johnny boy, Thank you too, I will check on the site you posted.

I am planning on reserving CP tommorow I hope that I don't have a problem getting confirmations.::MickeyMo
