So far we have narrowed it down to Cypress Pointe (105 a night) or Royal Palms (139 a night)

which would you choose? which would be better for 3 kids? (7,5,14mo)

Thanks again!

Cypress is nice but Marriotts are top rated. I think I'd go Marriott.

Cypress is closer to Disney and in an area that lends itself to walking with everything you need nearby. Royal Palms is older and much more isolated - you need a car at all times there. The units are very similar in size and features although if this is Cypress Pointe Resort not Cypress Pointe Grande Villas the CP units are brand new. Both are nice so I'm not sure I'd pay extra to be at RP.

tototoo is right. Initially, I read your post quickly and I was thinking you were doing a trade and not that you were paying more $$ for one over the other.

I have stayed at Cypress Point and while I am staying at Marriots Cypress Harbour for the second time next month, I have never been to Royal Palms.

Cypress Point is a nice resort for the kids. Nice pool, family atmosphere and great location on the plus sides- (Oh, and they had a cool parrot in the lobby). Down sides were parking, kind of an apartment complex feel without a lot of greenery and a small second bedroom with little twin beds. The biggest down for my family is that there was no TV in the kids room. They don't have TV's in their rooms at home and so when we vacation, that's a treat for them. Also, it's nice for them to have down time at night and watch TV before bed, in bed. They were disappointed with that.

I don't know a lot about Royal Palms but I'm quite sure that in addition to the amenities it has on site you also have full use the World Center with an awesome pool and activities there as well.

I'm sure you'd be happy with either place.

Just as an update to this, the Cypress Pointe Resort (not sure about Grand Villas) have a tv in the second bedroom now.

Where are you finding that Royal Palms rate? I couldn't find Royal Palms on Hotelkingdom but, may not have been trying good dates.

thanks, royal palms was the only one he could get. i think we have decided to go with cypress pointe, although i am tempted with the courtyard deal. i still think we would enjoy the 2 bedrooms.. but we would save enough to stay another night if we went with the courtyard 1bdr suite for $79... decisions decisions.
