Okay, here's the question: Has anyone ever moved the twin beds around in the 2nd bedroom of the 2 bdrm units? I told you this was a strange question!! We're debating about going with a 2 bdrm vs. 3 bdrm unit in either CP or CPGV (or perhaps even another 2 bdrm condo with a similar set up--twins in the second bedroom)...it's DH, me, 2 kids, and my MIL and we want her to have her own space. The kids can do the sofa bed...we don't want to relegate MIL to either the sofa bed or a twin, nor do DH and I want the twins! :p

Could we push the 2 twins together and treat it like a king bed? There used to be a "bridge" type thing you could put between the beds under the mattress pad to eliminate the gap. (I'm aware we may need to bring our own bedding for this)

The only reason I'm considering this is because 2 bdrm villas are more readily available (via Skyauction or AFVC), and we could save a few hundred $$ going this route.

What do you think?

call the resort and see where they stand on this issue.

some of these beds are heavy - I doubt you could move them with help from maintence.

Others you won't have a problem moving.

how about you get the 2 bedroom for you and you get her a studio or a 1-bedroom - I know costs would be greater.

especially going through skyauction - you might get the 2-bedroom easier.

I would just ask her what she wants to do.

she might enjoy the beds apart and have one of her granddaughter with her.

ask her before you decide anything.

Thanks for the reply, Spiceycat...you've given me a few things to think about.

I checked out some of the CP renovation photos on their website and it looks like the second bedroom has a trundle bed...so that wouldn't work. But a CPGV 2 bdrm might still work. I did the calculations and discovered we could save over $400 if we could pick up a week on Skyauction (RSG) and get the remaining 3 nights through Hotelkingdom vs. going through HK for the entire 10 nights. All dependent upon availability, of course. Hopefully, CP/CPGV would be willing to keep us in the same unit...

The twin beds can move but the bedside table in between the two beds is attached to the wall and won't move, so joining the beds can't be an option.::MickeyMo

Sammi, thank you for the info. It sounds as though the 2 bdrm alone isn't a good option for us. I'll probably reserve a 3 bdrm through HK, and if we get lucky on Skyauction or AFVC, fine...if not, we're covered.

We were at CPGV in late Sept. and were able to move the twin
beds in the 2nd bedroom. They are on wheels and move rather easily. We joined 2 together to prevent our daughter from falling during the night, since we did not have a safety rail.

anna1111,

Thanks for that info! Maybe I won't discount that option so quickly after all... :D

;) Hi. We stayed last year and will be again this year. The twin beds in the 2nd BR we stayed at were designed so they could be put together. Both had wheels and the one had a bottom section that pulled out (like a trundle bed) and then you could put the mattress off the second on it to make a double. The 2nd BR is quite small but rest of unit is large. We recommend and shoulc not be a problem for you as you describe.

So are there trundles under one of the twins in that second bedroom in all the units? I'll be sleeping 9 in January.....

Anyone know for sure?

I've been wondering about the trundle bed, too. Is it two twin beds *plus* a trundle? So, can 3 sleep in the small bedroom?

I'm staying at the original Cypress Pointe (phase 1) , not Cypress Pointe Grandvillas.
