Cypress Pointe Grand Villas

My recently (2 yrs) widowed FIL was just visiting and he's tired of spending his time alone in Orlando. My in-laws used to go for 6 weeks using time shares - they own at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas (2-bedroom plus lock-off unit) and the same type of unit at Silver Lake. They also own 2 weeks in Aruba which they exchanged for Orlando timeshares.

Anyways, he offered to DH that he's willing to GIVE us his Cypress Pointe timeshare as long as we take over paying maintenance fees!! It's my favorite place to stay in Orlando and we could use it as a 3-bedroom or get two weeks out of it by using it as a 2-bedroom and a 1-bedroom. We own 3 weeks in Ft. Myers Beach so we have experience with timeshare ownership.

I think we'll take him up on his offer...what would you do? I'd love to hear from any CPGV owners. Thanks!

Orlando because it has so many great timeshares is a tough area to constantly get good reviews - Cypress Pointe does.

Not an owner either, but we LOVE it there. We've stayed there and my friend's family also stayed there, both through Skyauction.

I would take it if it were given to me. I'm sure that's the only way we would become owners, since we never pay more than what the maintenance fees are.

Maybe I could rent from you one day.
