I know that this probably seems like a no-brainer, but my DH loved staying at Pop this year. We are planning another trip next March and were planning on splitting our stay between Pop and CB. When I came across the threads tonight about Cypress Pointe Grand Villas I got very excited..would be so nice to have our own space, 10 days in a value resort can get a little crazy. DS and DD thought CPGV looked great from the website pictures, but DH is not convinced. I tried the money angle (We can stay longer!), but he is not easily convinced. Can anyone help me convince him that this would be a much more enjoyable vacation? He is skeptical about the prices on hotel Kingdom..."there must be a reason they are so cheap"...thanks for all your help!

It is MUCH cheaper, but are you going to rent a car? If you stay off site a car is needed and of course there is parking costs.

I've stayed on site many times and have stayed at Grand Villas and the regaulr Cypress Pointe. While they are nice they do not have the ambiance of on site. Sometimes that is nice to get away to something more subdued.

If we are getting only 1 room, we stay on site, but if we are going with extended family and need more than 1 room we stay there. There isn't a catch with the price with hotel kingdom, just check in and avoid any offers for timeshare presentations. They aren't pushy, but are around.

Having a kitchen is nice for breakfast and the washer/dryer is very helpful when you have kids : )

Hope you decide what is best for you.

I've stayed at Cypress Pointe and been VERY VERY happy. We had a 3 bedroom timeshare we split with my brother's family. but we absolutely LOVED every bit of it.

This is my dilemma right now. I love staying onsite, but we have 4 families that will be doing the DCL, and the week before the cruise the women & kids (& 1 guy that is "in love :lovestruc " right now, that can't be seperated from his woman... :rotfl: ), will be doing the parks for a week. Since we are such a large group, I would love to find something that could hold all of us, since it would be more "festive"! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!! :flower:

there have been a couple of posts with pictures - get him to look at them.

I love to stay onsite and offsite.

if the majority of your trip is WDW theme parks - then onsite is probably right - but in my opinion you just can't go to WDW non-stop

you need a rest day, a shopping day - some great outlet malls in the area, plus another park day - either US/IOA or SW - just for variety!

it is very hard to stay onsite at WDW and do other things....

I would also look into renting points at a DVC resort. OKW studio won't be a lot more than the value resorts if you rent from an DVC owner. but you get 2 queen beds (instead of double) and they have a kitchennett - you CAN save money on food if you want too - you don't have too. DVC resorts have a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom too. but the best value is a studio.

Offsite is cheaper because it is offsite!!!
