I just won an auction on SkyAuction for a week in an one bedroom unit at this resort and I'm looking for a little feedback. Is there anything I need to know about Cypress Palms? Any requests I should make about the room location or anything else? I've read the reviews on Tripadvisor and they seem pretty positive. I thought $320 for a week in June sounded like a deal.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I'm interested in the information as well. We will be staying at Cypress Palms in a 1 bd room New Year's week.

I stayed there for a week in December

It is a nice place. My only real concerns were:

1) one of the pools was heated to a hot tub temperature (and they were only using regular pool chemicals in it, not hot tub chemicals), making it unsanitary IMHO. I hadn't really thought of it this way until another guest explained it to me.

2) Security was almost non-existent. Rarely saw security around and property was not gated.

3) Our socks/slippers were black by the end of 3-4 days. Washed our slippers, could not get them clean. Ended up throwing away 3 pairs of brand new slippers away.

Other thoughts:

1) the recreation staff was A+++++. They went out of the way to be pleasant with the kids and made the poolside/recreation complex a lot of fun. Can't say enough good about the recreation manager. He was amazing. Lots of activities for kids/families.

2)The dedicated shuttles to/from disney and universal were very clean, shuttle drivers were very nice and on time.

3) We stayed in a one bedroom (ful kitchen unit) and it was HUGE and VERY clean (except for the dirty rug situation) . I would say somewhere between 800-900 sq. ft. My mother saw a one bedroom partial kitchen unti and said it was MUCH smaller.

Regarding room locations, I'm not sure what you could request. You can walk from one end of the property to the other in maybe 7-10 minutes. The lobby offers free coffee/hot chocolate etc., so maybe asking for a room in a building near the lobby might be good. I believe each building has five floors, being on a top floor might eliminate noise since no one will be on top of you. We were on the 4th floor and found our unit to be sound proof. We had neighbours on each side and perhaps above us, but never heard anything.

If you have any more specific questions, please ask away.

Nice resort, big rooms..no fancy slide pools etc but really nice employees and its clean
