Well I was reading the forum on Ultimate Roller Coaster (one of the oldest roller coaster websites out there its been around since 1997 www.ultimaterollercoaster.com) and there was a post about an article in the Orlando Sentinel. It mentions two important things.

#1 Cypress will finally begin re-construction on the Miracle Strip Starliner (build in the 60's, the Starliner was bought by Kent Buescher when sadly Miracle Strip closed in 2004). To be opened in May 2007.

#2 Cypress Gardens will begin immediatly (today) to allow admission to the park for FREE to anyone with a Season/Annual pass from ANY Theme Park. What it sounds like is that if you have a season pass to any park in the country you can get into Cypress Gardens free. This is effective until Dec 24th.

This is a very interesting development, and it could work for the park's favor. First getting people to realize it exists, and second as many parks make almost half of their money from in-park spending it could actually make the park more money that way!

Cypress Gardens is a very cute, well maintained park and very BEAUTIFUL park and I would recommend anyone visit it.

Wow this is great maybe we will do it no a sunday before coming home..we are goign to disney that saturday and i dont hink its too far..wooohoo!!

From the newspaper article:

And he wants new people to see the park so much that until Dec. 24, Cypress Gardens will honor annual passes from any theme park in America.

So does anyone think that a Busch Gardens 2006 Tampa Fun card would count as a annual pass???
I don't think so since the card does not even have a pic or anything on it. Just looks like a regular Busch Gardens Tampa ticket.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I'm not sure, A season/annual pass by definition is a pass that allows you admission to a park at any time (sometimes including black out dates) for a certain duration of time, usually a year.

I belive this WOULD include Disney Annual/Season Passes, Universal Annual Passes, Cedar Fair Season Passes, Six Flags Season Passes, or any season pass to any park. To bad I can't share as I have about four of them!

Drat. I just left Florida last Friday and have season tickets to two different parks. Even had one of them with me. Sure wish I'd known.

I checked the web site..........its true! Here is how it reads.....

"Buescher also announced a pass exchange program, in which passholders from other parks can experience Cypress Gardens at no charge. Between now and December 24th, 2006, guests can present any other theme park’s valid 2006 pass and receive free admission to Cypress Gardens. And just like the season pass; guests can take advantage of the opportunity as many times as they want. They will also receive a $10 discount off any of the 2007 Passport options."

We were thinking of checking out Cypress gardens, when we go down for Thanksgiving, the prices were reasonable. Now we are going for sure. We are season pass holders for Cedar Point. I think the kids will love it, and I here its a very clean park with a lot of .....well......gardens!

They filed Chapter 11 Bank. in September of this year, I guess from the hurricane damage in 2004. They will operate the same. I hope they start making money. They redid the whole park in 2004. From the ads it sounds great!!!

I read this yesterday on Mouseplanet. DH and I have APs to WDW and the Platinum AP to SW/BG. We will go to CGs and check it out. We were there years ago and enjoyed it. It will be nice to see it again.

The link for the newspaper article is no longer good. Is this offer still valid? I might try it on Friday.

Thanks,

Sheila

Thanks so much for checking. I emailed them but they hadn't responded yet.

Now if I can just talk my husband into swinging by there on our way home from South Florida on Friday. I think it's an opportunity too good to miss, particularly when we have enjoyed the park several times before it closed.

Happy Holidays.
