Cvs weekly 8/23-8/29

I am so happy for everyone's deals at K-Mart!

I haven't gotten my act together to get over there to see if we are doing it and I still haven't packed for our trip, yelling "hello?!" at myself, "you have 48 hrs. to get everything together for 4 people for 10 days and 50 hrs. of that is in a tiny car..."

So, instead I went to CVS...

I only went to get 2 Nivea Sun-Kissed lotions for $7.99 each, use 2 $2 mfgs. (I look like a ghost, we never got summer here) and some toilet paper to get up to $25 to use yet another $5/25 and earn a few more.

I got my lotion, but then decided just to "check" the clearance section. WHOA, did I hit gold! First, they had a CVS self-tanner lotion so I put back the Nivea, then I started scanning the other stuff and it was all 90% off!

I took a picture for you, but it doesn't look like much in the picture, my savings was $230.28 and I did spend some real money ($12.05), but only because I didn't want to spend my extra bucks. I earned another $3.89 on the transaction and spent the $6.99 from the ear phones (which I needed for the car trip anyway).

I had coupons for nearly everything I saw, but not many with me because I cleaned out the car for the trip. I sent the real Lana out to the car to get the coupons I had and we managed to use one $3 Glade flameless candle coupon adjusted to $2.62 to cover the cost of 2 of those plus a scented oil candle and a $1 Action Scrubber adjusted to .54. Then I had two $1.50/2 coupons for the Carnation Instant Breakfast that was 75% off, so 2 of those four were a little better than free. I had a $2 Skin Effects coupon to use on the $2.49 Renewal Kit that was regular $24.99.

I didn't even get many Olay products and I should have - I had a ton of coupons at home and could've gotten about another $500 of that stuff for free - the Regenerist treatment kit was $2.99 and costs $29.99, and the self-tanning Total Effects face stuff is regular $20.99. I got it so cheap, I'm using it on my legs! :rotfl2:

I hope ShiPooOwner sees this and has a bunch of Olay coupons (it was the Maryland store). I barely put a dent in it.

Lanajae, how did you get the Olay Regenerist so cheap?

Whoa nice haul! Have fun on your cruise :yay:

Thanks!! I will be missing all of you a lot, I think I like this more than vacations lol

Lanajae, how did you get the Olay Regenerist so cheap?

Great shopping trip!

I don't know why, but they had it for 90% off on the clearance shelf. Its not expired and it doesn't look over-heated or anything either. I know they've had problems in the past with some cosmetics spoiling from those super hot shelf lights, but this looks okay to me.

It's as if the manager got in some kind of cleaning mode and just started yanking random things off shelves and putting them at 90%, especially anything that wasn't normal shape and was a bonus such as the Clorox toilet cleaner things. The only nationwide clearance item was the Carnation Instant Breakfast at 75% off, they aren't going to carry it anymore because it expires on them (although all this is good until Sept. 2010) - if they would put it by the cereal instead of by Boost, it would probably sell.

Anyway, I think this was a fluke. All the prices were in the system, nothing was adjusted except the coupons because they were all for way more than the product - one alone didn't even cover 3 items. I have been restraining myself from going back with Olay coupons. I can't even remember all the products - it was those regenerist cleansing clothes, lots of cleansers, lots of lotions. There was also nearly every type of eczema product made, don't know what was up with that, lots of acne treatments, etc. I bet there was 2K worth of stuff.

Sorry for rambling, I am still really excited about it lol and I am proud of my restraint (and my husband is like "we have NO ROOM for any of this!")

Wow, that is awesome! I'll have to keep my eyes open. :3dglasses

That reminds me, my store had all it's Hallmark wrapping paper and gift bags 75% off. Did anyone else have this? I got a few generic rolls of wrap.

Have a great trip, LanaJae! If I remember correctly you're headed to Nola? I LOVE it there! Enjoy a beignet before your cruise for me.

momtosam- thanks for posting the details and kmart link. :thumbsup2

LanaJae- You are amazing! :wizard: Enjoy your vacation. :cloud9:

WOW! I wish I weren't heading to Rochester tomorrow. You know where I'd be!! I could kick myself now! I was at the Maryland store yesterday and didn't bother to check the clearance shelf. Was it all back in the corner on that shelf by the baby stuff? I wonder if any of it will be left on Wednesday? Are there any good CVS stores in Rochester?

Have a fabulous cruise, LanaJae! We will be thinking of you! :woohoo:

Thanks for the preview! Great haul LanaJae, i could really use some eczema stuff for my youngest- the summer makes it get worse, i guess the sweat, heat and sunscreen.

I went to kmart today. First time ever experiencing double coupons as we dont get those in south florida. Heres what i got:

Ziploc free with $1 q from publix summertime savings book

Starbucks doubleshot espresso big can $1 q from a june insert, i think.

Playtex gloves free with $1q from 6/28 ss

Tag body spray and deo free with $2q from P and G

Glade room and carpet free with q from 8/9 ss

Pert mens shampoo free with insert q

Lysol neutra air spray free with insert q. There are bonus packs with two cans for the same price

Smartwater free with insert q

Reach floss free with insert q

Skintimate travel size free with insert q.

Couldnt find some bic razors, vaseline would be free with 1.50 q from 8/9, dove deo is supposedly free too.

I dont know the exact inserts because i cant access any of the databases but everythin was from inserts. It was so much fun and they let us do as much as we wanted but no overage. Also got a $5 off our next purchase.

Have a great week everyone!

Thank you! I don't know what a beignet is, but I will be sure to have one. I have read many books that were set in the Garden District so I am anxious to see if it is like the pictures in my head, it's too bad that we won't get more time there, but we just can't afford to stay longer than the day/night before the cruise. I want to go back someday without the kids so I can see the nightlife stuff too.

I saw the Hallmark 75% off and I went home for some reason and went back an hour later and it was all gone, they said some lady bought it all, which is just as well as I have lots of beautiful paper and then I get lazy and put things in gift bags instead.

momtosam- thanks for posting the details and kmart link. :thumbsup2

Thank you - you are amazing too :grouphug:

Thanks too - will miss you!, I will have fun and I hope you aren't going to Rochester for anything not fun. No CVS or Walgreens in Rochester - I think the doctors own all the pharmacies there too lol CVS ends at Apple Valley and Lakeville.

All the stuff was in the back corner, the second to the last end cap - the last one was filled with baby blankets. I hope its still there Wednesday - I promise not to go back :rotfl2:

Maybe the manager will dig up some more stuff, I wonder if they aren't in trouble for having a messy store as they were feather-dusting all the shelves in the pharmacy area. Saw stealing again while I was there (teenagers), but the cashier who is usually mean to me was extremely nice today, maybe someone gave her some happy pills :rotfl: I almost walked out when I saw she was working, she's not as bad as the Maplewood one who hates me though. The manager there (I call him Mr. Burns in my mind), accused me of manufacturing my own coupons, they were from the scanner at Mahtomedi. I explained to him how it works there and he walked away mid-sentence.

Great deals!!!!!!!!!

I am not so sure about this eczema stuff as I didn't recognize any of the brands, it was like homeopathic stuff. My youngest has it bad at times and I've been scared to use anything on her except Aveeno products. My neighbor says that Eucerin is the only thing that works and Mayo Clinic says Vanicream only (but they own that company). Poor kids, I wish no one had skin problems, my daughter cries and says she is a "bad person" whenever it flares and it breaks my heart.

This is the Kmart transaction I did today. I did most of the freebie deals posted in the momtosam's link yesterday, but I dug up some more coupons to go back today!

Dentek Floss Picks $2.19-1q = .19
4 Visines $3.99- $2 q's = FREE
Sani Hands wipes $2.49-1q= .49
Q-Tips 2.50- .30q = 1.90 (we needed these)
Lysol Wipes- 2.67- 1q = .67
Windex 2.50 - 1q = .50 (we needed this!)
4 Glade sprays 1.29 each - 2 Bogo coupons (which doubled!) = FREE
Glade carpet freshener 2.19 - 1q = .19
2 Friskies cat treats 1.69 - Bogo coupon = FREE
Playtex gloves 1.52 - 1q = FREE
3 Frappuccinos - 1q's= FREE
Bumble Bee Tuna pouch 1.99- 1q = FREE
2 Smart Water 2.00 - 1/2 q = FREE

I also used a $5 catalina so I mainly paid tax today and got a few things I needed! The coupons I posted were the face value...they all doubled even the bogos!

I still haven't packed for our trip, yelling "hello?!" at myself, "you have 48 hrs. to get everything together for 4 people for 10 days and 50 hrs. of that is in a tiny car..."

So, instead I went to CVS...

You made me laugh out loud with this one! This is how I am before all my trips. Just can't get it together.

Awesome job with the deals. My stores haven't even marked any of the summer stuff down anymore than 40% and a lot of it is selling so they probably won't. ( I live in a touristy area).

Have a great trip!!!!

Those of you who are doing the Kmart deals - I think I have a few new ones that I don't think have been talked about yet. Natures Source cleaners have a $1.00 peelie on them and they are on sale right now for $2.00. They have a couple different kinds, one is a Windex sub, then there is an all purpose and I think a bathroom cleaner.

And if you printed out the IP's the Scrubbing Bubbles ones were for $2.00 off the toilet cleaning gel (if you don't have the ips or ran out there are also $1.00 peelies out there) - the product here was $3.95 so free after IP, $1.95 after peelie but a couple of weeks ago there were coupons in the inserts for a free Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Max Starter Kit if you purchase the toilet cleaning gel. The kits are on sale now for $4.50. So with the IP's this is a great deal!

Hormel Compleats are on sale for $2.00 and there was a .75 MC this week making them .50.

If you still have any of the $2.00 off the Listerine Total Care mc's - the large bottles are on sale right now for $4.50 - so you pay .50 for the large bottle of the pink stuff.

I am jealous of all you with the Visine - I have about 10 Visine coupons but here they are priced $4.39, and even though it is still a good price I just can't bring myself to buy them when I know all of you are getting them free.:rotfl2:

We spent the entire day yesterday going from K-Mart, to CVS, to Walgreens and completely filled our car several times. I thought DH was going to kill me (he was off and with me). But the more he saw me save the more he started smiling! Our out of pocket all day was less than $20.00 and we bough enough stuff to completely cover the floor of my living room with bags (which I have to figure out where to put it today!:scared1:). Just on the Ntaure's Source we collected over 50 bottles - all of it free! And on that we limited ourselves to 4 bottles and kept our transactions at the $25.00 min. 10 coupon limit thing - just so I would not feel badly...:goodvibes

Oh and those Five Star $2.00 mcs also work on the 5 Star 5 Subject notebooks that are on sale for $4.99. If you get four you are also eligible for the free box of Kleenex and you get a catalina for $4.00 off at the register - which makes the notebooks free and you get the kleenex free too!

Hope you're packing, LanaJae, and not reading this! :lmao: I decided I just couldn't pass up those 90% deals being gone by tomorrow so I got up early and headed to the Maryland store. Guess what was on the shelf in the back next to the baby blankets? Topsy Turvey tomato plant holders! A whole shelf of them! So I went up and down all the aisles thinking they must have moved the stuff because it couldn't ALL be GONE, could it? :sad1: Finally I asked the cashier and she pointed to one of those red baskets sitting on the front counter. Well, there were five items in it and nothing appealing so I left a very sad ShiPoo! :sad2: Now I'm off to Rochester and it's just a visit with family and lunch at the Hubbell House. By the way, I know which cashiers you mean at both of those stores and they are two of the witchiest ever. ESPECIALLY the one at Maplewood. She needs to take a happy pill because she's more sour than any lemon. Was it the manager at Maplewood that was rude? I thought he was usually a pretty jovial guy most of the time???

Oh well, I'd better get on the road. HAPPY PACKING! Have a ton of fun! :woohoo:

Haha, you sound like me on Sunday except I did CVS/Kmart/Rite Aid and I was by myself. My husband likes to say his only contribution is bringing home the empty copy paper boxes from work so I have a place to store all the stuff! Our prices here were pretty different than some of the lists I have been finding...sometimes in our favor and sometimes not. I just wander through the store with my coupon binder though and I have found all sorts of deals! So fun!!!

These shopping trips are incredible! Are there lots of people in the stores with you? You'd think they'd get cleaned out.

No, not really :thumbsup2 I have seen a few people with coupons but they usually don't have many. I don't get it since it is so much easier than CVSing and Rite Aiding :confused3 I am passing up on tons and tons of really good deals because there is some OOP and we don't need the items....but regular people without a stockpile could make a killing. I keep telling my mom to give me $10 and let me know what cleaning supplies she needs and she can't be bothered. She could be stocked for months!

I was pretty shocked when I was there on Monday. I'm sure I was the only person in line "doing" double coupons. I looked around and no one else had a stack of coupons in their hands. If anyone else used any it was only one or two. They don't really advertise it that much.

I am not packing yet lol, but I am washing clothes and making piles on my bed and I didn't go to any stores today so I am headed in the right direction.

I am really sorry to hear everything was gone! I think I hit it just at the right time, it was quiet in there and they were cleaning so I think he was grabbing stuff, adjusting prices with the hand scanner and throwing it on the shelf. I'm sure someone wiped it completely out when they realized the prices.

Glad your Rochester trip is a fun one! Hope the food was delish :)

I like the manager at Maplewood, he can get crabby sometimes though - it's the one at Maryland that I call Mr. Burns.

LanaJae, did you notice if the Huggies Little Swimmers were in the 90% off ailse in the Maryland store?

No, sorry none of those. It was all cosmetics, lotions, etc. and cleaning supplies. That store got rid of all "Summer 1" and "Summer 2" is still at 40%. I think it will go 50% on Sunday though. I'll watch for Little Swimmers.

No, not really :thumbsup2 I have seen a few people with coupons but they usually don't have many. I am shocked! Still don't know if our K-Mart was participating, I will jump on this next time when I don't have so much going on.

Congratulations on how well you did!!

This is the third time our K-Mart is not doing double coupons!:sad1::sad1::sad1:

I have some many great coupons too:sad2: ( thanks to my great coupon exchange, thanks ShiPooOwner ;))

Michelle

For those whose Kmart doesn't double coupons....this is an interesting article...you may just come out beter taking your coupons to Walmart. I have found this to be true. Sometimes K-mart AND CVS are more expensive with a coupon for me than Walmart without. My Superfresh supermarket also doubles, but I find their prices are so high...it still doesn't come out cheaper usually.
