Cvs weekly 7/26-8/2

Thank you for all the coupon links. I was able to use the $4 off $20 posted earlier, plus was able to use 2 pen coupons for the bogo, as well as many that I had clipped already like the schick intuition. I made out great! Many thanks for helping show us new to cvs how to make it work out for little out of pocket expense.

Pam

My CVS only had CVS brand Composition books. I was concerned because the circular only said Caliber, but it worked fine.:thumbsup2

Just a heads up for other anxious CVSers :)

Help me out please? I am new to CVSing. Just when I feel like I have it something happens and makes me feel like :confused3.

Last night I wandered into one CVS unintentionally. (They are one of the only places that carry the Arizona diet green tea around here. YUM.)

It was late and I noticed the price tags were up showing today's sales. I asked the clerk if the prices for the sales would ring up even though it was early. She did not say anything because a manager was near by but gave me an Uh huh! eye. YAY!

I did not have my coupon organzier with me but had a few coupons in my purse so last night I ended up with:

4 of the BIC Triumph for free! (BOGO and 4 cpns)
1 Herbal Essence Shampoo (cpn and $1 ECB)
Left with OOP $1.10 and I got $1 ECB - seemed pretty good

Today with my coupons I went to another CVS that seems to be a little secret in my area because they always seem to have the best of the limited goodies.
BUT this is what I left with

3/10 Kashi Bars ($4.50 off with coupon and 5 ECB)
2 Herbal Essence (BOGO coupon)
Lunch Carrier ($3 ECB-need one- found last years with a REALLY BAD case of mold)
Tylenol (needed some- $1 coupon)
I had a $4/20 coupon
(forgot the ECB from last night at home)

after everthing was said and done the bill was $16.26 and I ended up with $8 ECB. So really $8.26 total- but it just does not seem like the best I could have done. I can't wait for the profit transaction, where I can walk out and feel like they paid me to come.

Does anyone see a better way to have done this?

Here's what I got..
4 12 pks of Diet coke $13
HE Conditioner B1 @ $2.99 G1 HE Moose Free (MQ)
1 CVS Tampons
2 Pilot Easy Touch pens @ .99c each
2 Caliber Composition notebooks @ .99c each
2 Caliber erasers @.99 each
1 Colgate 360 Toothbrush $2.88 - $1 MQ
- $5 off $25
- $7.96 ECB's
= $17.51 OOP PLUS $13. 87 in ECB's for next week

I scanned my card at the coupon center and got the $5 off $25, $4 off $20 and $2 off $10 in CVS Products

I want to go to another CVS and get the staplers and pencil boxes.:cool1:

Hey Lana

How is the Alli going? I've still got mine and plan to start on the first.... How's it going?

I didn't get to CVS today... Dr said no physical activity for 5 days so DH is flipping out about me going out. He'll be at work tomorrow :p

You did great! The profit comes when you limit yourself to only getting the free things and use coupons on top of that, plus the $/$$ coupons when we get them.

You needed the lunch carrier and Tylenol and forgot the ECB at home which would have brought it down a little more.

The only better way to do it would be to break it down to groups of $20, use the $4/20 each transaction and the ECBs you earned from each transaction to pay for the next one. Plus you'd have to buy the school supplies and tampons, etc. to get the $4/20 in pure profit (then that $4 goes towards things like the Tylenol).

After you do this awhile, you'll always have things on hand at home like Tylenol and probably a spare lunch carrier, etc. It gets easier to pass up the things that aren't all-the-way free.

I did pretty well today. I had to go to two CVS store to get all the school bargains but I am glad I did. The second CVS was very well stocked so I was able to get those Bic Triumph pens as well. Another good bargainI was able to get was the dry idea deodorant. It was on sale for $2.99 and I had 3-$2 coupons!!!!

In all I spent about $40 today and I have over $18 in ECBs to use the next time. My receipts say I saved almost $70 between sale items and coupons and ECBs!!

I also went to Staples and got most of the 25 cent deals. I will go again tomorrow to see if any are left.

Hi! I am still taking it, but I don't think I've lost any weight yet. A few times I have been nauseous from it, but I'm sure it was because of what I ate.

You have to watch the fat content of food to avoid the side effects, and when you see the side effects, you'll want to watch the fat content because you are seeing OIL! lol

I think I will have a hard time losing weight because all of mine is from taking corticosteroids - I only eat once a day because if I even look at food, I gain another 2 lbs.

Hope you are okay - please take it easy!, maybe someone can drive you to the store?

Made it to my first CVS-ing!
I dragged my mom with me today, and we both got:
1 CVS Tampons @$1.89
2 Pilot Easy Touch pens @ .99c each
2 Caliber Composition notebooks @ .99c each
2 Caliber erasers @.99 each

I used 2 transactions, so OOP was $4.09 (I think), and have $3.96 in ECBs.
Mom bought everything at once, paid out $8.13 (well, my money since the stuff is for me) and has $7.92 in ECBs.
She also got a $3 off $15.00 coupon.

She was very excited until I explained that we are going again next week, and then the week after, and the one after that...
:rotfl:

I had a driver lined up, lol. I'm supposed to rest for 5 days, and this is only day 3. They put my on lisinopril and lasix, and I take prevacid, so I hope that is okay with the Alli, everything I've looked at says it is.

If you do the Kashi deal make sure that the granola bars ring up at the sale price. I got 2 boxes of the Trail Mix flavor and one of the Honey Oat (or something like that) and didn't notice until I got home that the Honey flavor bars scanned at the regular price so I didn't get the ECB for that deal. I need to go back tomorrow and get a price adjustment so that the ECB will print.

This same thing happened to me today. One of the Kashi bars didn't ring up as 3/10. I went right back in and they fixed it.

But, I, for the first time had a hard time with my cashier. She kept ringing up an item and then using the coupon right away - making sure everything matched up correctly (it did!). I asked her not to do that because I wasn't sure I would be able to use my 4/20 coupon if she did. She didn't understand what I meant. But, she did do what I asked. Then, she took my ECBs right out of my hand and started counting them. I had them in order as to how I wanted to use them - bigger ones first, ones that expire first, etc. I was SO frustrated with her!! It ended up taking much longer than it needed to and there was a line and I always hate taking up so much time. But, the woman behind me wanted to know how I did that. So, it was fun to tell her about it!

I ended up with all the school deals, the nice pens, tampons, wipes, and a few other things for a total of 64 cents!!

OMG PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!:worship: I WAS TRYING TO WORK ON NEXT WEEKS DEALS AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOO CONFUSED. I THINK I PUT NEXT WEEKS DEALS ON THE FIRST POST...:sad1::sad1::eek:I WENT BACK AND TOOK THEM OFF BUT I AM SO CONFUSED. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK IT OVER FOR ME...:scared::confused3

Thanks! I feel better about it.

Lately, like everyone else, I have really been pinching pennies where I can to still get the splurges we want without worrying about it.

DH says that he thinks I have actually spent more lately because I find a great Q on something that we do use and get it. I have tried to explain we have it on hand when we run out and cheaper than if we waited and ran out to get it when we were out.

There are very few drugs that interfere with it so I think you are good, the big warning was for an organ transplant drug which I used to take (but for autoimmune disease, not transplant). I read everything I could, it appears to be safe and they are now seeing it helping people with type 2 diabetes too. You should take a multivitamin with it as you lose some vitamin absorption from food.

Don't worry if you miss CVS this week, the school supplies aren't things that most kids need, just rest and feel better soon!

I know those cashiers! The only way to deal with them is to have your coupons inside the top of your purse and hand over one at a time - if they ask for them all, say you are still trying to figure it out. Speaking of nutso cashiers - last week I had a Walgreens employee ask to look at the coupons I had in my hand while I was still shopping lol - I said I have coupons in my hand for things I don't even plan to buy so unless you just like looking at coupons, there's no point.

I subscribed and I thought it looked great, but I don't know the ad that well yet, I will look it over closer.

Sometimes it looks that way to others, but for every dollar you spend doing these drugstore deals is like taking $3 off your grocery (or Target/Walmart) trips.

I agree! My grocery bill was climbing up over $125/week before CVS and now it is around $75 for the week. Plus, I get to skip half the store!

Yup...I used to do all my shopping at Super Walmart and my weekly bills were well over $100. Now I usually spend less than $75 for everything and I have a basement full of extra stuff that I give away/donate/yard sale. We are eating better and using better products and saving a ton of money.

For the newbies....It does take a lot of discipline though. Unless I need something, I ONLY do the free or nearly free items. Other things may seem like a good deal, but if I don't need it and it will cost me any OP, I don't get it. My goal is <$5 OOP a month per card and I usually get close to that. Eventually even just doing the freebies your stockpile will build up that you won't need to buy stuff....especially if you can learn to not be brand specific.

Just a heads up. I bought some of the Lifesavers today as part of the $15/$5 deal and they have a $1.00 coupon inside. The bag says on the outside that the coupon is inside. They are on sale for $1.50 so the coupon makes them only $0.50. We go through these like crazy at work, so between finding the coupon and the ecb's I'm on cloud nine.

And I just have to share that I had two of the best cashiers tonight. I end up at two different stores looking for the school supplies. I still didn't find all of them, but both cashiers were more than willing to write out rainchecks for me. One cashier was even nice enough to roll over my purchases for me, without me saying anything. The other cashier was impressed that I got over $50 worth of stuff for $8 oop and earned ecb's too.

I'm loving this. Between CVS and Staples, my kids will be set for school!!

I know I don't post here often, but I always read the thread and try to offer help when I can. I've been having an awful time at my local CVS's lately and am hoping that some of you will be able to shed a little light on it and or offer some suggestions. When I first got started with CVS I became good allies with my local manager. He was awesome helping me find deals and making magic happen at the register. Now I am not sure whether I have been spoiled or what but I have just about had it. Needless i=to say I have not seen my manager lately however I have heard his name tossed about the store so I am hoping he is just on vacation or has changed days/shifts or something. Here is the type of things that I have run across. On a BOGO offer the cashier is refusing to allow me to use two $ off coupons and has even gone as far as rto rudely tell me to save the coupon for a time the item is not on sale. And when I tried to use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale she about flipped her lid - this happened with two seperate cashiers on different occassions. It irked me but I lived with it. But now I seem to be having a whole different issue and this one I won't let slide. I started to notice that everytime I went to a certain cashier I end up owing money - no matter how carefully I do the transaction. The real eye opener came last week when my husband and I had identical orders and wound up at two different cashiers side by side. I ended up owing like $1.48 and DH owed zero! Same items, same amounts, same ECB's used and exact same technique/order in transaction as far as coupons first, etc. The problem is this cashier always seems to be there and I always seem to get stuck with her no matter how hard I try to avoid it. So today we go in, and its her again - DH gets in line he has 5 items - each item is .99. Simple transaction, no MFG's or anything. He hands cashier one $4.00 ecb and then a $1.00 ecb - cashier tells him I have to mark this one down to .95 - he replies fine. Subtotal is now 00 - she then totals it at .48!:confused3 DH tells her no way am I losing money on the ecb and then paying you! So she calls a different manager over and she looks at the order and is obviously perplexed and tells her to redo it - cashier does same thing happens. At this point I tell the manager that I do not have this issue with either the other manager or the other cashiers. They hit a button and this total disappears. Manager says well, I can see the subtotal is zero I have no idea why you owe money. She then decides that the ECB is ringing up as a MFG coupon and thus I am being taxed only on that one $4.00 ecb. I tell her this is not a MFG coupin and she says I know, but you have to take that up with CVS. I end up getting so mad that we ask her to void the transaction, take our ebc's back and walk out of the store leaving the cart there. Are any of you having problems like this? I mean how can one cashier and one manager take care of this with no issue and without my even calling it to their attention and this cashier and manager just run me around in circles? I'm having a really difficult time trying to figure out what is happening and trying to correct it and don't have anything to back myself up with. CVS does not seem to post any rules about coupon useage and about whether ECB's should or should not be taxed and why do some ring up as MFG's etc. I'm sorry to rant - this has just gotten very frustrating and I don't know where to go to figure it out. I really appreciate anything any of you have to say...:goodvibes
