Cvs weekly 4/4-4/10

Complete eye care solution 8.99 got $8.99 eb

head and shoulder shampoo and conditioner $4.99, used $1.00 coupon bringing it down to $3.99, used buy shampoo get conditioner free, saving $4.99, got 2ebs back for a total of $1.99 for both (or $1 ea)

Pantene shampoo and conditioner $2.99 ea, used $1 off 2 coupon making it $4.98, got $2 ebs back for a grand total of $2.98 for both (or $1.50 ea), gave to my mom (because I can't use sulfate shampoo) and she gave me $3 cash ;)

chocolate cheerios, 2 boxes b1g1 $4.49 for two, used 2 $1.25 off one box coupons, for 2 for $1.49 or abut $0.75 each (still have a couple $1.00 coupons I may go get another 2)

Dawn hand renewal dish soap $0.96 each, used $0.50 off coupons making it $0.46 each.

oop $25.12, saved 58.37, got back about $18 in ebs

I am very new to this - have only bought once in my attempt to get started. I have a $2.99 EB and a $3.49 EB. I don't think the $2.99 expire for another week and the $3.49 printed today so I probably have time for that.

Can someone help me figure out how to roll these and walk away with more? I want to get to the point that many of you are at but aren't sure how to do that. Honestly, any items will do because if we can't use them, I will donate to our community ministry center. We could use just about anything sold at a CVS in our center.

Thank you so much for any help!

I don't think there are any real money makers this week (where you end up with more ECB than when you start), but with the ECB that you have you could do the Colgate deal ($2.99 - .75 or $1 coupon, depending on which you have) plus the Stride Gum deal (.99) . Use your $2.99 ECB and pay .24 plus tax OOP and get back $2 + $1 in ECB.

Challenge to the Lurkers come out and show Flaky how much you enjoy and appreciate her hard work !!! guilty too of not posting as often as I should !! Prolly cuz I can't compete with Lana:rotfl2::rotfl2: Just kidding !!!!:cool1:

Hey Flaky-- I love this thread and appreciate how much work it must be for you. I know I haven't posted much lately because the deals haven't been that great and we had family in since the week before Easter. If you're feeling burned out I don't mind getting the threads up for you over the summer. I'm a teacher and for once in YEARS I am not taking any coursework this summer. Let me know if you can use a break and I can help out! :thumbsup2

thank you for all your hard work. I'm a lurker so you never really know I'm here. Because of this thread my couponing and smart shopping has spiraled out of control. I call it my little part time job. This is one addiction that is actually good for my budget and my family. I frequent AFC, SD, WUC, I heart and HCW but I still come back here to see what ideas you folks might have.

I appreciate all the posts. There's some great ideas here! The problem is that there's not much to discuss anymore. The deals are very few and far between. CVS was threatening to "change" things and I read lots of rumors about them discontinuing the ECB program. Well, CVS didn't get rid of it all together but they really scaled back. I only keep enough ECB's to roll every 2-3 weeks now.
I used to go to CVS 5-6 times a week. now I go once every 2 to 3 weeks.
WAGs is my new favorite store.

:grouphug: WOW I didnt know I was sooo loved. LOL. It isnt like I dont know how nice all of you are, I just feel like it is getting boring and I want to make sure to keep the interest. I am glad everyone can still find ways to save money. Dont worry I am not going anywhere. I know that all I have to do is ask and you guys will cover for me. Thanks for the pat on the back...that helps:cloud9:
Soooo here is next week:cool1: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36145898#post36145898

Dont forget...April your ecb will start printing:yay:

I too wanted to say thank you flaky! I haven't been very active at CVS in a while cause the deals haven't been that great for a few months. I do use iheartcvs.com but only to get a sneak peek at the actual ad. I'm a visual person. Then I go on here and get some ideas for different scenarios. I spent a good hour last Saturday trying to figure out my Sunday trip. :rotfl2: DD8 kept asking me what I was doing and when I was going to be done.

I won't be going too far. In fact I think I still even have a $2 ECB to use up this month! I really have just been getting burnt out on it, getting the same old things over and over again, a lot of which I don't use. It used to be a whole lot of fun just to have bags of stuff to bring home for $0 OOP, but now I'd rather have the space lol! I'm sure when I run out of shampoo or (if the day ever comes) toothpaste, I'll jump back in to try to find a deal. I still have a GC with about $15 on it so I'll be able to jump in easily with no OOP when things pick up.

I'm so glad this thread is around. Everyone here is so nice and I love all the chatter! :flower3:

Go to iheartcvs and click on the coupons link. There's a 5 off 30 and a 4 off 20 and a 3 off 15 if I remember right. They expired on 3/21 but if your store will accept expired Q's you'll be okay.

My store takes expired Q's as long as they don't beep. I imagine those ones beep. They usually beep not for card when I try to use those. That is why I loved the online newspaper ones because they never beeped. Thanks though!

They will probably beep as expired (and not because it's not for the card in this case) according to what LanaJae posted a couple weeks ago on one that expired on 2/28. People have reported using the Reno only coupons without beeps but I don't know if they're still available.

Good to see you :cool2: You are very welcome:love:

Thank you for all your hardwork flakypuff!! I just started CVSing right before Christmas and my DH is amazed at how much I have saved. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into this thread.:flower3:

Hey Flaky, I am coming out of lurkdom to thank you for all your hard work :flower3:. I check your thread almost everyday. Thanks to you, and all the good people on this thread, I saved over $2,000 last year :yay:. I'm just not very witty to post very much :goodvibes. Thanks again!!

Hi Flaky! I totally appreciate all the work you put in here. This is definitely the nicest, friendliest CVS bunch I've found online! The deals definitely aren't what they have been in the past, but I find enough to keep my ECB (barely) rolling.

This week, I'm using overage from Nature's Bounty ($5 coupons) to buy my dad Head and Shoulders. He always bugs me about my couponing hobby, but then he asks me for special stuff that isn't that easy to get for free:lmao: I'm going to set him up with H&S for a while.

Also, SoyJoys are a monthly Buy 4 get 2 ecb and they've all apparently been clearanced to about $0.65. There's a coupon in the 3/14SS for buy2 get 1 free, so a tiny moneymaker and more soyjoys. I read that the limit was 5.

We spent last week on a road trip from Miami to Washington DC and Philadelphia and I had the pleasure of visiting Trader Joes and Shop Rite, neither of which we have down here. LOVED IT! Saw Rite Aid and I soooo wish I had thought to look at some deals before we left, but I think my husband and kids would have killed me if I would have had to make a stop at several. As it was, I went to CVS to buy some insoles for my sneakers (there's ALOT of walking in DC). The super nice guy who checked me out asked me if I had seen the special about the couponing lady. I felt like telling him "Hey, us CVSers do that EVERY WEEK!".

I'm not witty either :rolleyes1 Just kiddin '!! We are all a friendly bunch and love to hear from all our cvs buddies and :worship::worship:to Lana who is the GURU!!!:rotfl2:

Thanks. I think my family may be one of the few that loves soy joy:banana:

So, I forget who, but someone suggested I call the ExtraCare people since I didn't get the ECBs for our prescriptions.

Well, I found a receipt today in my purse and the ExtraCare number on it isn't mine. Grr. I KNOW I give them my keys but it's not crediting the right account number.

I called to tell them and they tell me that isn't the reason I didn't get my dollars, it's because my husband is a federal employee and our insurance is "regulated by the federal government and therefore exempt from getting ECBs" WHAT? We pay premiums like everyone else! The insurance company is a private organization just like BCBS (we even could have picked BCBS!)- we're not on Medicare or w/e. To me that is federally regulated insurance.

I'm pretty irritated. I don't think that is fair at all. I get not doing the ECBs when people don't pay anything for the insurance, that makes sense. But we do.
So they are doing an inquiry and if it comes back that that is truly the reason I am DONE filling prescriptions at CVS. It just really irritates me. I'll go to Rite Aid and pay the same co-pay, thanks! Gr.

Hormones are flying! :rotfl:

That sounds pretty weird all right. Let us know the outcome. Good luck!!

I went tonight - not one of my best nights as I was down to $5 in ECB and I couldn't find them before going to the store and there was tons I wanted too - grrrr!

Oh, well, I got $114 worth of stuff for $15 so I can't complain too much. I got the tampax with the BOGO coupon, Head & Shoulders with $1 and BOGO coupon - and the girl gave me the price before the sale - So I got two for $2.99 instead of $3.99. And the Stride.

I also got incredibly lucky and did the P&G/Alvin DVD deal. I'm totally psyched because they thought they were all sold out and were going Substitute New Moon for Alvin. When the girl reached into the New Moon box to get the DVD down she found the last copy of Alvin. :woohoo: New Moon I would have used as a gift by Alvin is one my kdis will watch.

Oh, and Flaky, thank you thank you for doing this thread every week. I had no idea any of this was even possible before I stumbled upon this thread - I only wish I'd found it sooner. I love all the scenarios people post. There are coupons listed that I've forgotten I had and I totally would have missed out on those deals.:worship::worship:
