I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've finally run out of ECB's. It's been a great 2 years, I'll jump back in if there's a can't miss deal, but I think I'm done for the time being. I'll still be lurking on these threads though!

Oh no! Why??? We'll miss you!!!

I got really burned out last year and I had to make some positive changes that really helped me with my CVSing/Rite Aiding. I now limit myself to one trip a week. I usually head to two different CVS's and a Rite Aid on a Sunday morning and do the deals. If they are out of something, no big deal. I just skip it and get a rain check. No more running all over the county looking for a clearanced bottles of this or that or to get a $2.99 product for free. With a few exceptions for things we will definitely need use, I just do what I can that morning and live with it. Really cut down on my stress levels to pass up some of the deals. My Sunday trips are my "me" time, and luckily DH understands that this is my hobby and knows that he is on Brady duty Sunday morning just like Sunday nights are his "me" time with his volleyball league.

I also take one lunch at work (usually Thursday or Friday) and plan out my trips for that Sunday. I print my coupons then. I don't go too crazy looking all over the net for coupons. I also try to stay off of afullcup and all the other coupon sites because I tend to get sucked in too much. I will hit up all the coupon sites (coupons, red plum, smartsource) and print off coupons for CVS, Rite Aid and grocery store then but I don't go too crazy.

Just Mickey, sorry you are bowing out. We'll miss ya!

Thanks for the
pep talk. I think alot of us need it now and then. I know I do.
I noticed this was on page 4 agian.:scared1: I also have noticed not that many are posting here anymore :guilty:
I enjoy doing the thread everyweek but I am not sure the interest is still here:rolleyes: I know there are a few that are posting everyweek. I also know there are just not that great of deals lately pirate: Is this thread still worth the work?:sad2:

I hope you keep up the thread. I love reading the other's shopping lists. Gives me some good ideas.

I think it's just that the deals aren't that great, I am running out of extra bucks all the time now.

I would hate to see this weekly thread go away but I know it's an awful lot of work for you Flaky, and it keeps us all together. It's the one "nice" place I can go online where everybody likes and respects each other.

We are such a small group that actually post, but I think there are a lot of DIS budget board people who use it even though they don't write.

If it was just a copy and paste from another site, without the work/work, would that be okay? Most of the other sites are okay with that as long as you give credit to the poster such as "thanks to XXXX from XXXX."

I agree with Lana. I get too bogged down going to the other sites that I don't and just come here. Everyone is so nice and I have made a lot of friends from this thread! I also think there are a lot of readers, just not a lot of posters.

I know that you put a lot of work into the thread Flaky! We all apprecaite it immensely. I agree...maybe there would be a way to just copy and paste to make it easier? I think we need to keep a thread in some way, shape or form!

I appreciate all your hard work flakypuff! :flower3: :cheer2:

I agree with puffkin and LanaJae. I wouldn't mind if you just copy and paste the first post each week. I enjoy reading the chit chat along with learning about the bargains. Everyone is always so nice on the CVS threads.

I agree that there are more lurkers than posters. For this thread there are 47 posts and 1764 views!!! So LOTS of people are looking at this thread :3dglasses, even if they're not posting. Your hard work is very much appreciated.

I'm one of the lurkers! I always look at your list when you release but like the others said... I don't post much.
I mostly do the baby deals but I've gotten pretty good with the help you guys have given me over the last few months... or probably closer to a year now!

I seriously have 75+ packs of Huggies/Pampers diapers up there from couponing in various places.. and it all started from this thread! I've also got over 10,000 wipes (I got bored one day and made a list :lmao:).
I learned how to roll ECBs and all that from you guys-- Iheartcvs just really confused me!
I rolled my Pampers ECB from two weeks ago to get 2 Huggies last week for $3 after coupons, then I got the $5 ECB back! I LOVE when I get those ridiculously expensive diapers for next to nothing.

I don't have quite the stash on other stuff that you all have but do take advantage of ECB deals when it's something we'll use.
I appreciate this thread and enjoy coming back to post how well I did. My husband doesn't give a crap so it's nice that someone appreciate the good deal! :rotfl:

I often wondered how many long hours of work you put into compiling this for us each week. :headache: Just know it's much appreciated. :worship: If memory serves me right, you took over for It's a Happy Day when she needed a well-deserved break but that was quite long ago. Maybe she wants to give YOU a well-deserved break now if you're feeling a little burned out??? I am a computer idiot so I can't volunteer to help you, but I wish I could. (I don't even know how to post a link to something else on here. :guilty:) I try to keep up with some of the other sites like Slickdeals.net, but those people on there are a little scary at times and can be brutal plus there are usually 75 pages to plow through. Anything you can do to make it easier on yourself, I say go for it. Copy and paste and give credit to the creator or scan or whatever computer knowledgeable people do!? :thumbsup2

Here's my Wags deal of the day. (I know, I know I swore them off but now I have RR's that I need to use. When will I ever learn?! )

Buy three packs of Pilot FriXion erasable pens or highlighters using the IVC from their April booklet so total cost is .19X3. On the back of the pens packaging is a mail-in refund offer for $4.50 if you buy 3 packs. Limit one refund per household but that's a nice mm. You can also buy only one or two packs and get less of a refund. I also bought the new U by Kotex pantiliners (also available in pads or tampons and there's a $1 coupon in the April All You magazine or an IP) for $3.49 and got a $2.50 RR which made them free except for tax. I also bought some Easter stickers, egg dye, candy for 50% off so I could use my $5 RR from the John Freida deal last week.

:grouphug: I love you guys. as long as it is still usefull then i am here:thumbsup2

It is very useful to me and all the tips I've learned and friends I've made are sooooo appreciated !!! I agreethe deals are not what they were but cvs is still the nicest couppon/bargain store !! This week the cashier helped me out to ensure I got full use of all my coupons the best way possible !!I think I paid 68c and had 3 packs of gum, 4 Dawn, a pantene and a case of water plus I got $6 back in ecbs !!! Walgreens would have NEVER done that!!!! I turned that around and paid 2.81 for 2 maybelline mascaras and got another $3 ecb!!!

I also have my fav. RA but while the cashiers are nice the deals don't compare !!!

Challenge to the Lurkers come out and show Flaky how much you enjoy and appreciate her hard work !!! guilty too of not posting as often as I should !! Prolly cuz I can't compete with Lana:rotfl2::rotfl2: Just kidding !!!!:cool1:

I am sorry I have not posted alot lately. I really enjoy this thread and all the work that goes into it!! :)

I have been able to use that 5 off 20 reno coupon for the last 2 weeks, but it finally beeped on me today! So sad. She did push it through for me.

Does anyone know of any other 5 off 20 coupon out there? When I do a search I come up empty.

Go to iheartcvs and click on the coupons link. There's a 5 off 30 and a 4 off 20 and a 3 off 15 if I remember right. They expired on 3/21 but if your store will accept expired Q's you'll be okay.

I don't have my receipt in front of me, so the prices don't include the tax, but here is the deal I did tonight:

Pantene Smooth Shampoo $2.99
Pantene Smooth Conditioner $2.99
Complete contact solution $8.99
Colgate Total Advanced Fresh $2.99
Stride Swift Gum .99
=$18.95 subtotal

-$3/2 Pantene coupon
-$1 Colgate Total coupon
-$8 ECB
-$6.50 ECB
=.45 + tax OOP

Got back $2 ECB for Pantene, $8.99 for Complete, $2 for Colgate and .99 for Stride Shift. So I lost about .50 on the ECB, but Pantene Smooth is my DD's favorite shampoo (at this moment).

Hey Flaky-- I love this thread and appreciate how much work it must be for you. I know I haven't posted much lately because the deals haven't been that great and we had family in since the week before Easter. If you're feeling burned out I don't mind getting the threads up for you over the summer. I'm a teacher and for once in YEARS I am not taking any coursework this summer. Let me know if you can use a break and I can help out! :thumbsup2

thank you for all your hard work. I'm a lurker so you never really know I'm here. Because of this thread my couponing and smart shopping has spiraled out of control. I call it my little part time job. This is one addiction that is actually good for my budget and my family. I frequent AFC, SD, WUC, I heart and HCW but I still come back here to see what ideas you folks might have.

I appreciate all the posts. There's some great ideas here! The problem is that there's not much to discuss anymore. The deals are very few and far between. CVS was threatening to "change" things and I read lots of rumors about them discontinuing the ECB program. Well, CVS didn't get rid of it all together but they really scaled back. I only keep enough ECB's to roll every 2-3 weeks now.
I used to go to CVS 5-6 times a week. now I go once every 2 to 3 weeks.
WAGs is my new favorite store.

A few things to pick up at CVS this week. The GM cereal BOGO is a fairly good deal for me pricewise. My husband eats a big bowl of Cheerios every morning. So if I do the BOGO and include a coupon for $1 off two they are pretty cheap.

Wish that I was getting better coupons from the scanner! Nothing very good at all lately.

I got the chocolate cheerios which were $4.49 for the box b1g1 and I used 2 $1.25 off one box coupons giving me a grand total of $1.49 for both boxes!!
