CVS script coupons question

I know I should just call, but thought I would ask you guys. So I always thought that once a scrip is at CVS you can no longer use coupons for it in the future.
But I have 2 $25 gift card coupons that expire this weekend and my Dr today wrote me 2 new scrips since I had no refills. Since I now have 2 new prescriptions can I use the coupon there? both have been previously been filled there within the last few months. Did I just make this rule up, or is it real? I would love to use the gift cards for a 3rd scrip that is expensive, but it needs filled now too.

THANKS!

Just because you have had the same medicine before shouldn't mean anything. These are new prescriptions written. I was say go for, just ask before you hand over the slips to be processed.

Lucky you, there are never any coupons available when I have a new prescription. :goodvibes

I figured I would try anyway. I just never thought to ask. but really I have never been on continuous meds till now. stupid getting older. A new store opened up and that’s why they came. I also had a $4 of $20 which I never get anymore. I miss the good old CVS days.

I use the rite aid coupons at cvs every time I get a new prescription that is a refill and they always give me the gift card. The insurance that my son is on makes the doctor call in the prescription every couple of months so every couple of months I go with the coupon. So it doesn't matter if it is the same medication that you always take, it only matters that the doctor signed a new script for the medicine.
