So, I've never paid attention to the CVS threads because we didn't have one, but now we do! It just opened this week. So how does it work? Where do they advertise? What kind of deals am I looking for? Thanks in advance for anyone who will take the time to explain it to me!

Believe it or not I don't go there but thought I could help by giving you the CVS thread in case you didn't see it :)

Thanks, but I did see it. It was a foreign language to me, lol. I don't know what an eb is or wyb? There is no explaination of what any of it means. :confused3

Happy for you! We don't have CVS here. :( I keep hearing that we are suppose to be getting one sometime though. So I don't know the ins and outs of CVS, but here is where I would start:

Some of the stickies at the top explain everything. HTH

Well, we recently moved to an area with CVS after living somewhere without any, so I'm new to it too. And I'm not really a CVSer the same way some have shopped CVS to stockpile stuff, but I can tell you that EB=Extra Bucks, and WYB probably means "when you buy", as in "Spend $15, Get $5 Extra Bucks when you buy all Crayola Products". (This from their most recent Sunday ad). Be sure to sign up for a CVS Extra Care card, which they will scan during every transaction you do. I guess you earn a percentage of what you spend back, like a rebate. We don't shop there too often, so I think we've only gotten a small one, via a receipt printout. Hope this helps!

I'm a casual CVS'er, but I'm gonna try for you.....
:)

EB would have to be Extra Bucks.

(ok, I got ahead of myself. First, go in & get the CVS card. Takes just a minute & will come in VERY handy)

now, back to the Extra Bucks. CVS does specials - just this weekend, one of the deals was buy 10 $ or more of a certain type (brand) of makeup & get $5.00 extra bucks. So, yes, you spend $10.00 on makeup, but you get a coupon (extra bucks) for $5.00 off your next purchase at CVS! (you have to have the card for this - so don't forget to do that!)

ok, WYB....I'm guessing on this one, but I"m guessing its short for When You Buy. Like, get X product free WYB product Y.

CVS also does Buy one, get one at 50% off - there were a LOT of those last weekend - Plackers flossers, on some makeup products and also on All laundry soap. (the brand All, not each and every bottle of laundry soap:upsidedow) Great deals to be had!!

CVS sent me a flyer in the mail for 20% off my purchase on the 14th or the 15th, plus I had $2.00 extra bucks from a previous purchase, OH! and I scanned my card when I got there & received another coupon for $5.00 off a purchase of $25.00 or more. I saved about $17.00 on Saturday! (The cashier said she wasn't supposed to combine the coupons, but she did!!!)

Always scan your card when you get to the store, I got about 5 different coupons when I did on Saturday!

Hope that helps!

Other things to remember with CVS:

You can roll your EB into other EB deals which is why these deals are so sought after.

The red and yellow price scanner at the front of the store print out coupons called CRT coupons when you scan your CVS card.

You can combine the CRT/e-mail coupons with sales and Mfg coupons and ECB to maximize your deals. For example. Blink is on sale this week for $7.99 with $7.99 ECB back. I'm going to use a $1.50 mfg coupon and $6.50 in ECB to make this free. In other examples, there is a CRT coupon for $1/2 caliber stationary products. This coupon - if you get it - can be used on the notebooks that are on sale 2/$1 so they are free. Sobe Lifewater are on sale B1G1 (buy one get one) and there is a printable coupon for B1G1 so you can get them free.

B1G1 Coupons can sometimes be combined with $ off coupons to maximize your savings - i.e., 2 weeks ago playtex were on sale for $6.99 with $2 ECB back. I used a B1G1 Mfg coupon and a $2.50 off coupon and $4 ECB got two packages of playtex for 49 cents with $2 ECB back.

Also check out iheartcvs as she lists all the freebies and lists all e-mail coupons and CRT coupons that are printing for the week.

Thanks for this thread...we didn't get one, we got TWO!! Im so excited!

Quick fyi, you can sign up for the card on their website and they mail it to you. :) That's how I got mine, then I waited for a deal I would use and went in with my card. :) I have yet to find the machine in our store that you scan your card in but I've only been in once.... :)
