I'm sure there's probably a thread about this and sorry to repeat, but is this program worth the effort? I noticed in this week's ad, they have several extra rewards but I don't typically shop at CVS but it's as close as the Walgreens. They're on opposing corners 1 1/2 miles from my house.

TIA!!

IME there is no effort at all. Just sign up for the card and do your shopping. Last year I started shopping at CVS in July....I saved well over $200 using the program and average shopping there once a month...I spent about $25 per trip, my receipts always listed a savings greater then what I actually spent in the store.

Definitely worth the trip. I've slowed down how frequently I go to CVS in the last few months but thru December I saved over $4,000 at CVS and only spent about $750 and that includes my family's prescriptions. :yay:

I don't do walgreens because their rewards program is so much more work than the CVS ECB program and like you Walgreens is almost as close as CVS. Unlike Walgreens, CVS will allow up to three coupons (CVS store/CRT coupon + MFG coupon, + CVS $x off $y coupon or CVS % off coupon), and an ECB for one item. :thumbsup2

To learn more of how the program works check the CVS/Rite Aid thread that Flakypuff publishes every week. For a little while MaggieW was generating the thread. I also recommend checking out iheartcvs.com as she lists some great tips on how to get things for free.

Definitely worth the trip.

I love CVS so worth it.

As far as Walgreens goes I agree with 3boymthr. Their rewards program has too many coupon restrictions and the RR have a short date on them.

Have you ever shopped at Rite Aid? I have not, but I have heard alot about their reward program. It's some type of Up Rewards (not sure of the official name). I think this week I might give them a try.

Good Luck in what ever you decide.

I normally just hit Wal-mart and then Food City for meat and produce. But I am trying to see about buying things at the better price. Some places it's not worth it to deal with. We have an Aldi here but it's a 20+ minute drive just to get there. I have 2 grocery stores (Food City and Kroger) and 2 drug stores (CVS & Walgreens) within 1 1/2 miles of home plus an Ingles within 3 and 2 Wal-marts plus a Target and a SuperTarget within 6.

I don't use Walgreens to really buy anything but prescriptions and use them for that because they're open 24 hours and I have a really nutso work schedule. I don't know that I would buy anything at CVS except for the deals and that's why I was wondering if it was worth it for the extra bucks thing. I'm not sure what I would use them for.

I am going to try and start this week on the 3 month stockpile thing to hit the sales with our ongoing purchases and coupons. I did the P&G thing before Christmas and just got my coupon book in the mail. It has some really great coupons for P&G products (couple of $.50, most $1 off!) We'll have to see if I can keep it up without going overboard.:rolleyes1
